Yeah - I thought the film was way too focused on Garcia. Bar-Lev should have made two doc's - one on Garcia and the other on the Grateful Dead. I do think one can hate cameras and mug for them at the same time, though.

Started watching this on a whim - on episode 4 - agree, good stuff.
-
Cool - my library system has both.
-
Guess it would be cool to take pic's during the eclipse show, too.
-
The below fest seems up your alley tinnitus photography -- I will be heading down to the area for the eclipse with the family - but not heading to the fest. The whole Ozzy starting his show at the start of the eclipse with Bark at the Moon, sounds like it would be a hoot. https://www.moonstock2017.com/ Also, for kicks, I am reading the below book -- very light on the actual music of Sabbath - which is disappointing - but for a rock bio, it's an ok read. Also read that Bruce Dickinson has an auto-bio coming out soon, too.

Yep, thanks - never heard of it - looks like it's YouTube - need to check it out.

Where was that REM footage taken from?
-
I guess so - glad they are looking out for us.

I don't get the whole 'private trading circles' mentality. That 3/21/75 show is a great show. The 'No Quarter', especially.

Wow! Phish announce a 13 show run at MSG for this summer!

Came across the below on another website - I imagine it is accurate - pretty amazing. -
Been listening to Dylan's Standard releases again for a bit and I just threw on Moonlight from Love and Theft --- fit's right in. Great tune - Moonlight.

This latest one $350 -- crazy. It does look pretty cool, though. http://ledzepnews.com/2017/08/02/led-zeppelin-deus-ex-machina-bootleg-empress-valley-seattle/ Their reasoning for pulling the torrent -- 'Robin hood' effect - Almost as soon as the set was released it was dropped on to sharing sites despite the label imploring people not to share lest the ‘robin hood’ effect takes away from the explosion of hubris that the label wanted from this release. How this immediate leak affects future releases, we’ll wait and see .. not to mention the sticker on it.

Listening to the recently release boot of 3/21/75 -- sounds pretty good. Haven't listened to a Zeppelin boot in while. Guess Dime pulled the original seed - at the request of the uploader, due to bootleg company complaining that it was uploaded so soon--- a bootleg company complaining about a torrent - that's rich. They did decent job with the sound, though. I have only bought one bootleg record and that was in about 1984 or so - I was 12 and spent $20 on Stones 81 show, which turned out to be a pretty crappy sounding audience recording - of course, I couldn't return it to the record st

Ha! - you got that right - put a white suit on him and he could pass as Dlyan at the Isle of Wight.

Watched tonights (Friday) webcast - it was definitely interesting - thought they played great. -
Politicians are politicians - commend them when they do something you support and condemn them when they don't. I would leave any legacy talk of any politician to about 20 years after they are out of office. So kudos to the three R's that voted 'no' last night.

I am not surprised that Cutler didn't like it -- he is an interesting guy - nothing new with the Dead and Phish crowd beating each other down and I guess if anyone can do that, Cutler can - think he paid his dues to have that opinion, even though I don't agree with it. I don't think there is a pretentiousness bone in Cutler's body, even though after reading his thoughts on the Phish show, he comes off so. -

Listened to most of 7/25/17 - sounded great. The theme was 'jam filled' - It definitely was. Thinking about doing the Friday webcast. -
Curious to know why the shows end so early. Nothing wrong it at all - it just seems odd that the shows end at 7:30. Would love to make it to Newport at some point. after doing a google search maybe the early ending show times stem back to 1971 - damn, crazy college-aged hippies... http://archives.chicagotribune.com/1971/07/05/page/18/article/jazz-festival-halted-after-riot/

Not to mention, a possible role for his wife in Trump's State department.
-
That's interesting -- the Lounge Ax shows sprung to my mind, when I listened to this record on it's release day - via Spotify. I haven't gotten around to buying it, though I intend to. Looking forward to how it sounds through my main system.

The author of the book discussed in the article was on Fresh Air, today ---- this may be the only time that Bannon and me are on the same page on an opinion, too.

I think that's Merle doing that -- can't tell though. It does seem that Merle and Martin are dueling at bit. (it actually may be Martin playing through a wah-wah as I continue to listen to it)

I took my quote from a Chicago Tribune article -- I don't necessary agree with the wording, either - just wanted to post all names of all the players involved in the trade and grabbed the paragraph. I always enjoyed watching Quintana pitch - very intense pitcher -- but I am fine with the trade and like anytime when you trade for prospects - hopefully they pan out. On paper they all look great - esp. Jimenez.
