  1. Notes of Blue is really great. Maybe Jay can produce the next Wilco record. Notes sounds great and is definitely a focused record. Definitely borrows a lot from old school blues - but there is nothing wrong with that. Hopefully, Jay can transfer it to the stage and put on a great concert. Jay can catch a few Wilco shows / Jeff can take note of Notes and both would benefit. Did flip through some of Jay's book - okay, nothing earth shattering. Very antidotal, which was his point, I suppose.
  2. Today is the 30th Anniversary of Keith and Donna's last show the band. check that - 38th - all this Caillou talk threw me off.
  3. Any Disney show / youtube clips of people playing video games / Kidz Bop on the Roku / Pokemon -- my daughter still throws on a Caillou or Curious George every now and then - I find it soothing.
  4. Compared to the crap my kids now watch - I miss Caillou.
  5. Yes - it should be free, then. It has always have been free, but the Taste use to be free, too, so I never assume anything is free in Chicago, anymore.
  6. Looks like it may be the below: They are playing a show in Canada. Rainey is great to watch play. Sun May 21, 2017 - 8:00 PM Nels Cline The Nels Cline Four // FIMAVwith:Julian Lage,Scott Colley,Tom Rainey
  7. It took me forever yesterday, but the order finally went through. I think I tried for about 5 hours on and off. I figured they would had all it worked out this morning.
  8. This year they are finally moving the main stage to the Jay Pritzker Pavilion - which is a good thing. Nice venue and the sound is great for an outdoor venue. I haven't heard that they will be charging for seats for the Blues Fest - like they are now doing during the Taste of Chicago. You may have to stand in line to grab a seat for Clark - not much of a view from the lawn, unless you are at the very front, so you will need get in the pavilion. Blues Fest is usually fun and pretty laid back.
  9. I can't imagine them not having the masters or at least using the masters for the release. Dead.net is already down - guessing too much traffic.
  10. The Stones exhibit that started in England and that is now in New York, will be coming to Chicago - which is great news. Looking forward to it. http://chicago.suntimes.com/entertainment/rolling-stones-exhibitionism-to-rock-chicagos-navy-pier/
  11. That Big Ears Festival looks really cool. Great concept for a fest.
  12. There is a sbd of the show on the archive -- I haven't heard it. https://archive.org/details/GratefulDead?and[]=date:1987-06-30%2A
  13. Now listening to 6/30/87 -- David Lemieux was talking about on his "This Day in G.D. History", today (he said he didn't have a 2/15 show at his fingertips). Anyway he told nice story - the venue is in a Canadian amusement park. With the price of the concert ticket, one got admission to the actual park, with it's rides and Hanna Barbera characters milling about. Seems like it would have been a fun day. This was his 2nd show, I guess, and he was16 at the time. Nice audience recording - decent enough show. I don't think I ever heard it before. Venue: Kingswood Music Theater Location: Maple,
  14. Forgot that Jay put a book out - just put it on hold at my library system.
  15. To be fair to Jay - he was asked a question and he answered it. I am guessing he didn't ask to be asked. I think Jeff could use a kick from Jay, for old time sake, and vice versa.
  16. The Trump regime and their followers and Russia are after money and war against all things Muslim.
  17. Just listened to the Dem. leadership on POTUS XM - they are talking tough at least.
  18. I wonder if any the known players in the link played at the Hollywood Festival - guessing not, from the reaction of few of the players of the record.
  19. Right - just looked it up and a saw it on the Archive. 5/24/70 was a Sunday. Can't say I am familiar with any of the other bands, with the exception of Sabbath and the Dead.
  20. Wonder if Sabbath and the Dead ever crossed paths in the 70s. Just to put a scare in everyone:
  21. Started the show around 6:20am when I got into work and I am almost done with the Lovelight.
  22. Been listening to the 2/13/70 show this morning. It's a good one.
