Came across the below review on Saturday's Alpine Valley Dead & Co. show --- two of my friends who I went with made it on one of the pics - at least their backs did. It was the writer's first show - a nice perspective. http://www.theshowlastnight.com/dead-company-alpine-valley-music-theater/

I wish I could remember it, but I was too young --- though I do remember watching White Sox on Channel 44 - also the Blackhawks. I had to bring out our little black and white TV outside on our porch to get good reception. I am sure tin foil was involved. Just saw that Dahl is going to be at a Hooters near me tonight --- wife is heading to a Violent Femmes show, though -- somehow I don't think my kids would be too excited to head to a Hooters.

Not sure if I am the best person to answer this - I wasn't really paying attention to the time. The start date on the Alpine show was 7:30pm - I believe, they took the stage around 7:40 or so. I think the venue had a 11:30 curfew.

Had a great time - perhaps a little too much... Beautiful day - the lot was fun and it was festive inside, too. A nice quiet campground near by -- all was good. From a music stand point, I though the St. Louis show I saw last fall was a bit better, but Saturday's night show no slouch. They definitely are pretty tight - no major f-ups. The band definitely keeps things interesting --- must admit this band is one of the better ones since 95. I was going to watch last night's Webcast - but figured I wouldn't make it past the 1st set - I was beat.

The Bottle Rockets - Because there doesn't seem to be a thread

That's cool. -
Yeah - $30 bucks is too much - that's why I don't do the webcasts very often. The lawn ticket was $40.

That's cool, just told my wife that it would be cool if they webcast the Sunday show - we're heading to the Saturday show, but decided against the Sunday show. Now we can watch the Sunday show at home. Also I just realized this morning that this Saturday will be the 21st anniversary of GD's last show -- guess it will be nice being up there seeing Weir,Hart, and Kreutzmann.

Happy 4th of July, all you V.C.ers from the US!

Small parade down the main street of my village -- all the kids/adults ride their bikes/scooters/strollers or walk --- very low key but fun for all -- ending in the village's center with fire trucks holding up the flag with its big ladders. The fire department put it on every year. -
Figures the Indians would pull it out... Go White Sox!

Posted the below in another thread. I saw Weir and Wasserman play in a shed too - think it was 92, with Michelle Shocked and others on the bill. The place (the horrible World Music Theater) was pretty empty. Great show, though. Just found the setlist. 7/16/92 World Music Theatre, Tinley Park, IL Bombs Away>Take Me to the River, Twilight Time, KC Moan, Witchcraft, Eternity, When I Paint My Masterpiece, Fly Away, This Time Forever>Shade of Grey, The Winners>Heaven Help the Fool>Bass Solo>Victim Or the Crime>Josephine>Spoonful* (*w/Michelle Shocked & Bruce Cockburn

Went to Sox park last night with my kid and made it up to the kid's Fundamentals area before the game - my kid and nieces had a blast. Plus it was nice to see James Shields get a win, especially after he gave up a home run with his 2nd pitch of the game; of course the bullpen almost blew it for him in the 9th. Also my kid and I got a chance to get a picture with the 2005 World Series trophy and sit in Reinsdorf's suite and the press box. Fun day/night at the ball park.

Didn't realize that Wasserman was ill, that's a bummer. Glad he was brought back to the Ratdog fold for a bit - seeing him and Robin Sylvester both play was great. A nice Rob/Bobby duo version of Victim in the below link. http://www.jambase.com/article/famed-bassist-rob-wasserman-1952-2016

It's still on Dime, if you do torrents. Just do a search on %Bob Dylan% - thinks on the 2nd or 3rd page.

Finally getting around to listening to the Fallen Angels release (checked it out from the library) -- musically is sounds great. Relying heavily on Herron's steel guitar, which is nice. Again, it standards, so it's not too exciting, but Dylan does sound engaged. Nicely produced, too. Curious to know if the did these sessions live or did Dylan overdub his vocals - I haven't read too much up on these sessions. Also downloaded some 85 sessions and rehearsals recently - nice to see some new 'old' stuff out their in the boot world. Listened to half of each release - it's alright.

Watched the webcast of the 1st night at Wrigley last night -- they did an a cappella version of Space Oddity that was pretty cool.

Scored two for Hall and Oates -- woo-hoo! It'll be something to do, I guess-- though the wife and I are fans, so it should be fun. Been trying to get Sabbath tickets but no luck so far, even though it is back on the list.

Thanks for posting.

Watching the ARMs boot tonight and it's a wonder that Page was able to write anything - man was he f'd up throughout this show. That was a great video, TP. thx.

Never seen that before, either -- cool video. I am not saying Spirit has a case - many songs sound like a lot of other songs. I am just surprised that it took so long for the Stairway case to be brought to court. Perhaps nobody really pressed the matter until recently.
-
Yeah, that's a fine argument, I guess. I haven't been following any of this -- I just know when I heard that Spirit tune - it was XM and I didn't realize it was the song in question - I automatically thought of Stairway to Heaven. The tune was already playing, when I turned the car on. The DJ mentioned it was the Spirit tune after it was over.

I finally heard that Spirit song on the radio last month or so - definitely hear the comparison. Crazy that it took this long to get in the courts.
