4-1 Blackhawks, to fulfill the "One Wing" obligation
-
Welcome -- what an unfortunate first thread to post in Seriously, this thread is all about chronology. Your tastes have no place here.

I now pretty much subscribe to the theory that this is a musical panic attack. Listen at about the 2:30 mark... the percussion is perfectly OK, then suddenly it begins to go all jangly and out of order, like what happens to one's heartbeat during a panic attack. Then the song keeps building until about the 4:30 mark where it is all confusion and freak out. This song is genius.

I think someone should use the gigapan and look around the loft for Wilco's "edge".

To me it sounds less like popping vinyl and more like the static that TV stations used to sound like when they weren't broadcasting. And it sounds deliberate to me.

The Belden Stratford is one of the most lovely, old style hotels from the outside and the first floor has had such great restaurants as Ambria and Mon Ami Gabi (not sure what is there now). I would not bother with the L from there -- there are about a bunch of bus lines that go up and down Clark street about a block away. I would check that out. It is about 2 blocks from the front door of the Lincoln Park zoo and the LP conservatory is right there, as is the Peggy Notebeart Nature Museum. You can easily walk to the lake and to North Ave beach. The Farm in the zoo is still open I think, and t

OK, after listening to it for a couple hours on shuffle, the song I can't get enough of right now is One Wing. It's my new War on War -- I can see myself pogoing to the ending in a big way Happy happy joy joy. Then again, what do you expect from a fangirl?

I am not ashamed to say that is from memory

It looks like the skull has a bunch of signatures on it, though I might be wrong.

Supposedly the CDC is looking at Rogers Park here to help to better understand how it spreads -- apparently it is practically ground zero here in the US. The alderman emailed that the CDC will be going door to door next week. Meanwhile, the reason I am up late is that I need to dose Jake with more advil at midnight -- he had a 104 fever today and biiig cough -- could not help but think H1N1, though it is likely not that.... right???

I love the little box on the floor on the right near that big red console that says "don't forget to plug this in too"

I don't believe that he is really going anywhere. For the most part (as we all know so well) once this place has you, you can't just fade away.

Looks like we need to talk Hollinger. off the ledge

Talking about the hold steady lead singer (tip -- click the little arrow in the quote title to take you to the actual quoted post -- I had to do the same thing )

After just a couple listens my overall opinion is that I really really like the record and I look forward to seeing them performed live. Though when I transferred the tracks to my iPod they were all out of order, so my first exposure is one of relative weirdness as I kept stopping songs to go to the right order Love BBN, Solitaire, I'll Fight and WTS. Again, looking forward to multiple listens and comments on individual songs. I wonder though if You and I will become the "Leave me like you found me" of this record and rarely get played live, since Feist clearly will not be touring with th

Wilco DOES love you baby

Why all the hate on the Hawks It's not like they didn't beat the Canucks fair/square. Plus, I was 2 the last time the hawks won the cup. I think that the Wings have won, what 4 times since then? 5 times?

I would love to see single threads per song -- probably too late now though. I can't read this whole thing right now and prefer to comment on each song individually My #1 comment on Bull Black Nova -- it reminds me of what a lucid dream is like at 6 am -- that intense, can't-make-anything-happen-the-way-you-want-it-to feeling. So evocative and wonderfully jangly. Also, YAY bells on Wilco (the song)

I caved. Though I didn't really pledge anyway. I won't say how awesome it is (and it is).

Are you kidding? I sure as hell hope so. My son and my stepson think their dad is pretty fucking cool, likely because he is.
