Actually, "the backstage guy" in the film is WXRT DJ Lin Brehmer. When IATTBYH came out, he laughed and laughed about his "essential contribution" to the film -- but you could tell he was fairly mortified. He's a pretty good guy in reality.

Usually the "estimate" is there as a guide -- actual selling price can be hugely different. There can also be hidden reserves (floor) that the seller won't sell the item less than a specific price, generally under the low end of the estimate. And best yet, the auction gets a % from both the buyer and seller.... My sister was in the auction biz here in chicago

I saw a debunking of that shocking "National Coordinator of Health Information Technology" post -- actually, this was created during the *gasp* Bush administration. And as far as this office making decisions, it makes recommendations for possible next steps - kind of like your doctor or insurance company. Get a grip everyone.
