  1. Was Jeff sporting those wicked red boots? I am so glad you got there
  2. I have missed a lot while in MT but this is the best news of all. Congrats Jenna -- she is so adorable and best of all - healthy! Edie
  3. I was at PetSmart with the dog and kid yesterday, and what did we hear? Nothingsever.... Must be on some recently distributed mix tapes -- I saw that several posters above also heard it at chains.
  4. Man was that fun, but I'm not talking about the shows, I'm talking about this and many other similar moments: Disclaimer: Just went through the threads again () and this is Sam's picture of Greg, Maudie, and Johnny.
  5. Sell your one and buy 2. Might be the only solution now :/
  6. OK - I think I got it -- let HIM pick Thanks all
  7. Oh, I know... and yes, I think that places that are supposedly "votexes" etc are no more spiritual than one's own kitchen. I think we just need a cool getaway spot.
  8. What is a fourteener While we talk a big game, Scott has a permanently bad knee so big time hiking is kind of out of the question. We like spiritual places that don't cause us pain.
  9. Damn -- Scott and I drove to NM about 15 years ago, and went right by Crestone and didn't know to stop.
  10. I was just looking at mt shasta sites; sadly the place is on fricking fire right now so maybe the desert isn't a bad idea. That or the ocean (yes Jen, I hear you )
  11. Yeah, that's part of the turnoff for me. It feels like the disney world of spirituality. Neither of us have been there, so maybe the right thing to do is to stay somewhere not far so we can visit, but not actually stay in Sedona. Mt Shasta is about an hour from Sacramento; its another place Scott has wanted to go.
  12. Wow -- I figured it was close to you....Do you know of any places to go or avoid there (besides your place )
  13. Le Grand Gallerie in the Lourve. I have been there 5 times and I never ever tire of it Le Musee de Picasso - hidden treasure in the Marais If you are a Delacroix fan, be sure to go to his atelier - 7th arrondisement Ille St. Louis -- stay there if you can. Very central, tres francais Every restaurant I have ever been to -- PM me for details
  14. And I am ill prepared, yet I have an awesome idea: I am thinking of taking Scott for a long weekend to a great "spiritual" spot here in the US. October is the timeframe, though I would wait for the right place. Ideas where I should take him include Sedona and Mt. Shasta. I have gotten a nice raise so while money is always an object, we have a little extra now. Thoughts? I need to have the framework together by, say 11:00 tonight... YIKES
  15. Hey Kev -- It's good to virtually see you Don't sweat it; just know you are loved.
  16. I love to watch films about them, but in person, not as much. WW, you may have "little white spiders" that can kill your houseplants. Get a natural pesticide stat.
  17. Wow -- awesome! I would have suggested you sell the one, and then buy two together, but you solved it!
  18. aren't you supposed to be in school?
  19. I think that this is July, and what happens now generally has little effect on what happens post convention. We'll all be wrapped up with the debates and the candidates' lastest gaffes to be concerned about this.
  20. This upset me more than I thought it would, but in reality, it's part of the pendulum. At one point back in the late 70s or 80s, everyone was terrified that the Japanese were buying up everything in America, especially real estate. The Japanese economy took a turn for the worse, and then you didn't hear about that so much. What worries me is the fact that this economy seems so fucked up and we have a war to fund.
  21. O Donna - he is adorable! Yay rescue dogs!
  22. My husband went there. The "gayer" part is true -- there were several people that were not out of the closet when we graduated, mainly because there was no closet per se. Now they are gay and proud (rightly so). It's the big "a ha" moment
