I might be headed up there Sunday, too. I had forgotten that I've got Monday off. Plenty. Look for the other Fillmore/Denver threads....

Just barely 90s. Not to stray too far from the thread focus, but I've always thought Infidels to be an overall great album. It's one of those albums I can listen to all the way through and have no desire to skip a note. Sly & Robbie on drums/bass, Mark Knopfler and Mick Taylor on guitars, and some classic great writing and vocals by Dylan. Great stuff.

Good list and good call on "Tweeter." Excellent tune. I also enjoy "Congratulations" from that Willburys album. I'd add to the already fine list: The Groom's Still Waiting at the Altar I and I and Every Grain of Sand

Why is one necessarily exclusive of the other, though?

A place to whine and act peeved and put upon

And cell phone conversations that have to be heard by everyone within 20 feet of the person having the pointless conversation. Nobody gives a shit that you've got a) a cellphone, B.) friends, or c) where "you at." Leaping Christ, is it that hard to either tone it down, call the person back, or move to a spot where you can continue the all-important conversation about where the other person is "at" without subjecting everyone else to your inane life? -

I'm irked that no one has invented a 7-blade razor yet. The 5-blade has been out for almost two years (it has an additional 6th blade for trimming facial hair on it, too). In these days of instant gratification I demand progress be made on this immediately. For all I know there have been rogue hairs on my face for this past week that I've been using the free Gillette Fusion (a mere five+ blades) I received in the mail. Hypothetically, these rogue hairs that I can neither see nor feel would cease to exist (if they even exist at all) had I had access to a 7-or-more-blade razor at my "dispo -
stefanie: Besides the restrooms behind the stage (particularly the Ladies Room by the load in/out door) there's a Ladies Room towards the back by the first set of VIP stairs to your left as you walk into the Fillmore, too. Red Rocks is great because it's Red Rocks but the sound can be an issue, as noted earlier. The Fillmore has great sound no matter where in the place you are. There's also plenty of room on the floor towards the back and sides where you don't have to fight for positioning and will have room to boogie, as well as easy access to beverages and bathrooms. I enjoy the Fillmor

Yeah, I thought we were discussing the "fill it" part.

I'm not so sure. They haven't sold out this Sat. night (or Sunday night on a long weekend for most) yet. Not to say it won't sell out by Saturday, but still. I think the Fillmore holds closer to 3000 than 4500, too. Red Rocks gets tons of great acts and concerts aren't cheap these days. People pick and choose their shows with a little more caution now. I'm not saying Wilco can't sell it out, but I'd bet they wouldn't.

Teams that have more money to spend than the team I root for are all the same and big poopy heads.

Now this is there, too: "CHIEN-MING WANG'S NO-HIT BID WAS BROKEN UP BY MIKE LOWELL WITH NO OUTS IN THE SEVENTH INNING."
-
This is on the bottom of espn's MLB GameCast/Scoreboard: "NEW YORK'S CHIEN-MING WANG HAS A NO-HITTER THRU SIX INNINGS."
-
Cano has gotten two hits. The Red Sox haven't gotten a hit yet, though. Six innings without a hit. Yet.
-
Wang is still in the thrust of a no-hitter thru 5 innings. I wonder if he can keep the no-hitter up. Good luck with the no-hitter, Wang. It's not everyday you see someone pitch a no-hitter. ed. Correction: Wang has now pitched 6 innings of no-hit ball. My bad.

I just started using the plugs that come with iPod this week as I now take a bus to work. I think I'm making people on the bus uncomfortable as I dress professionally and am constantly adjusting the ear pieces. I must look like a Fed working the terrorist beat or something. I realize iPod is going for a minimalist approach here, but cripes those things hurt on top of not fitting properly. Who's got earsockets that big? I'm looking for a cheap foamy pair this weekend.

I dreamed about killing them again last night. I have had a few wilco dreams but none them I remember too well. All of them just catching them live. I used to have a lot of Dead dreams in which I couldn't get to the main hall where they were playing. The sound was all muffled and I was like under the stage or something. Then I'd finally get to the main concert hall and it'd be fantastic with the lights, fans, loud tunes, etc. I also had a lot of dreams of me and Cobain hanging out as pals and just talking and shit for a year or two after he offed himself. He was a real nice cat in the d

Anxious to hear the new Steve Earle. On the bus to work: Dropkick Murphys, The Warrior's Code.
-
Yes, very accomplished.
-
Hendrix incorporated Blues, Jazz, and R&R and fused it into a psychedelic sound yet to be heard at that point. He made feedback fashionable/listenable. He broke ground by playing Rock guitar (hence my disticntion) previously unheard of. That is reinventing the instrument, imo.
-
I haven't heard of these folks in a long time. I saw them open for REM in the late 80s and never heard of them again.
-
Nels is very accomplished at the instrument. Hendrix reinvented the intsrument. Whether you like Henrix or not, he can't be overrated since he's the "rated" that everyone else on rock guitar is compared to.

Just popped in to add that I think I have plenty of "right" to help make decisions on a pre-birth being. Just because I'm male and it's not my body does not mean I forfit rights to decide the pre-born's fate. Without a man the fetus wouldn't be there. If the man wants the pregnancy and the woman doesn't I'd hope it'd be a viable court case.

The Stones still kick ass. Yeah, Jagger looks idiotic prancing around in leotards at his age, but they still sound great.
-
Hey, Keith has written only one of these letters in 40 years of rolling with the Stones? I'll give him a thumb's up.
