  1. That list is just ridiculous, joke or not. Just because an artist is gay doesn't make it "gay music".
  2. Merry Christmas From Sesame Street - Seriously, it came out in 1975 and I listened to it at Christmas every year since I was 3 or 4. I'd be lost without it. That and my Bonnie Prince Billy Superwolf album.
  3. My sister is living in Inuvik, Nunavut at the moment. She just got through the 24-hour darkness period. The temp today is -21c with a windchill of -36c. Brrrrrrrrr
  4. I am a HUGE fan of Bonnie Prince Billy/Will Oldham. So, when he releases a new album I like to hold on to it for a while before I listen to it, as a treat to myself. I finally got this as a Christmas present and have been listening to it daily ever since. Oldham is a music genius. Standout tracks for me are: Love Comes To Me Cursed Sleep Lay and Love I Called You Back I agree that Dawn's voice is beautiful, however some of the songs I would have liked to been just Will.
  5. I listen to Summerteeth, AGIB, BT 1&2, and YHFT once a week while getting ready for work in the morning. The Sunken Treasure audio has been playing in my car since it was available.
  6. All of you Bob Dylan fans complaining about the annoying vocals of KOL...now THAT'S funny.
  7. No kidding. Last time I checked, hot dogs and kraft dinner came to less than $5. It's what I grew up on and I turned out fine Courtney is a crusty biatch...sober or drunk.
  8. I am with you NN. I gave it to a friend of mine and he claims it changed his life. Seriously. I loved everything about it...and to hear people complain that it was boring? I just don't get it.
  9. Has anyone else seen this documentary yet? I was blown away. HUGO CHAVEZ ELECTED PRESIDENT OF VENEZUELA IN 1998, IS A COLORFUL, UNPREDICTABLE FOLK HERO, beloved by his nation's working class and a tough-as-nails, quixotic opponent to the power structure that would see him deposed. Two independent filmmakers were inside the presidential palace on April 11, 2002, when he was forcibly removed from office. They were also present 48 hours later when, remarkably, he returned to power amid cheering aides. Their film records what was probably history's shortest-lived coup d'
  10. Love the Kings...can't wait for the new album. Glad to hear that it should be great, not that I ever questioned it.
  11. Watched the DVD on Saturday night. Wow. That was un-fucking-real. I have been waiting my whole life to hear a musician take a stand on those loud mouths in the back, and for him to do it up there all alone took some serious balls. All he wants is for people to listen. For those of you who thought it was just "meh", please, watch it again, and really LISTEN.
  12. That's easy....The Number Of The Beast.
  13. Just listened to another one - Late, Ben Folds (about Elliott Smith)
  14. I find this a happy song...funny how people interpret others music. One of the saddest songs I've ever heard is called All This World by Arco. Bonnie Prince Billy does a deadly cover of this song! Please tell my brother ALWAYS makes me tear up. Especially now since his mom passed away... listen dear mother I miss you the most and as I travel from coast to coast I feel your love and I feel your ghost listen dear mother I miss you the most listen dear mother I miss you the most
  15. I've only yet to see Wilco live twice, but at the Halifax show right before Airline to Heaven started he talked about us all imagining we were on a big ship. The show was outside on the waterfront. As he started to play, a train came by...it lasted until they ended the song. Jeff noticed and thought it was magic...it was cock!
  16. Sunken Treasure over here. Recorded, live, any version.
