  1. 0 for 2 so far!! Hopefully I'm wrong about the Eagles too. Skol Vikings!!
  2. YES! I am so sick of Bad Day in NFL Fantasy League commercials! BTW, I like Smooth Operator by Sade.
  3. Really funny. Robert Downey, Jr. was even better than I expected. The previews at the opening are hilarious too.
  4. IND beats NYG?? Otherwise, that would be an unprecedented Super Bowl matchup, esp. since you have PIT losing to them in the AFC Championship game.
  5. Playoff predictions?? Here are mine: Wildcard Round Atlanta beats AZ IND beats SD BAL beats MIA (toughest game to call) PHI beats MIN (I will be overjoyed if I'm wrong) Divisional Round CAR beats ATL NYG beats PHI BAL beats TEN (upset special!) PIT beats IND Conference Championships NYG beats CAR PIT beats BAL Super Bowl PIT beats NYG I hope I followed all the seedings right so I got the right matchups beyond this weekend!
  6. Only 2nd (maybe 3rd) time since I've owned it, soon after its release.
  7. I liked TWBB, but I think most people thought it and No Country for Old Men were the best of 2008 and I would choose NCFOM. That's my personal bias though. I haven't seen a Paul Thomas Anderson movie that I loved and I haven't seen many Coen Brothers movies that I didn't.
  8. Was there such a thing as a good seat there? Didn't look like it from TV.
  9. Okay, home by 10:30, kids passed out as their heads hit their pillows. Asleep myself, still by 11 if I'm lucky.
  10. Just started. A friend gave it to me for Xmas. I think like many comedians' material, it's better heard than read. Just from reading the prologue I'm thinking he could've benefited from a ghost writer (or a better one if he already used one) or a more active editor.
  11. I have a friend hosting a 2nd annual pajama party. Kids aged 8 & under come in their pajamas and eat mac & cheese while watching a movie through and LCD projector projected onto a bedsheet. The grown ups eat grown up food and drink grown up drink (my contributions are Bourbon County Stout and Anchor Steam Holiday). Home by 8:30, probably, asleep by oh... 11.
  12. Bands whose numbers reflect (accurately or not, Ben Folds Five) the number of people in the band are probably exempt from the rule.
  13. Sum 41, Blink 182, Matchbox Twenty. Only 2 exceptions come to mind immediately: U2, 10,000 Maniacs. I'm sure there are plenty more that are awful and plenty more that are good. Let's hear 'em.
  14. Freedom might be the greatest comeback record ever, IMO! Also LOVE Ragged Glory, Harvest Moon & Sleeps w/ Angels. Really like Prairie Wind. Sometimes appreciate Arc/Weld, but regret spending so much to get the full box set. There are some tremendous songs on Mirror Ball, but I hardly ever listen to it. I think 1989-1994 is as strong of an era as Neil has had. Of course, I was but a youngster in the 70s (born in 1970) so I didn't get to fully appreciate his other material as new releases.
  15. I didn't notice it. I'm a big fan of both songs, so now I feel silly. When I listened, my daughter said the Cure song sounded like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePrP8t56eww
  16. Missed it because of the thread name, and possibly its location.
