That, and if Roe were repealed, abortion laws would be the states' jurisdiction, not the feds. I think much of the rabid feelings on both sides of the abortion issue are due, to a large extent, to the feeling that this decision was taken out of the people's hands by a decision that stretched the meaning of the Bill of Rights beyond the recognition of many people. I'm pretty strong supporter of the right to choose, but not of the Roe v. Wade decision.

Really? I thought she looked like she was having a blast during the Weekend Update rap. I don't know if it's because she has a sense of humor about herself or because she didn't realize how much fun was being poked at her, but regardless, I didn't see discomfort. The guy with the goatee and the snowmobile suit was hilarious!

On the surface, I agree with you. Is the precedent that establishes this? It seems that since we're really talking about broadcasting licenses, the courts could disagree. Otherwise, we'd hear all sorts of court-sanctioned profanity on the broadcast networks, right?

Any thoughts on the fairness doctine?(forgive the link to the NY Post, please). Would this apply to late night shows (Daily Show, Cobert Report) that are comedy/satire? If so, couldn't Limbaugh, et. al. and the stations that broadast them get around the doctrine by labeling them as entertainment?

I was going to say White Stripes, but their debut CD was 1999, so I'll say Raconteurs who I might like better anyway.
