100s & 100s of Wilco tickets in the hands of scalpers
welch79 replied to Divemistress of the Dark's topic in Just A Fan
how in the hell... craigslist nashville already has scalped wilco tix up!! i am so damn irritated. no wonder i haven't had any luck getting tickets. -
really frustrated. good news first, i got tickets to both nights at the ryman. the bad news is that they are singles (i preferred two together), and saturday's are obstructed. damn. sunday's are also way back at row x, although they are together. they are still selling singles, if you want to get in, although they are obstructed view. if you put in a search for a single ticket at a time, you can buy them. at least you'll get in the door that way. but this is fishy...i was on right at 12pm cdt, and it would not allow me to purchase tickets in pairs. how can that be? i am really strugglin

well shit. didn't get a sniff of a ticket at the ryman. wish me luck for friday. frustrated.

yes, brutal is the best way to describe hoogerland's backside. the upswing is that hoogerland was able to make it to the end of the stage, the rest day and today's stage still holding onto his polka dots!

i cold bought (actually my wife did) the civil wars lp, and it's pretty damn good. a little chill, but good. based on your recs (can't go wrong), i bought the deep vibration's strange love. after just a single spin while i was preparing dinner, it is reminiscent of ryan adams. anyone agree? i like it (i am not a ryan hater as some here are).

bad luck today for wiggins...i hate that. i can't remember a more dangerous start to the tour in all my years of watching. cav continues to crush. we'll see what tomorrow's more mountainous stage brings. paging andy schleck? (i'll page him but contador will probably answer the call...) also, i'm interested to see what cadel's climbing form is looking like.

dude. thanks for posting this. i just snagged a couple great seats for this show in knoxville!

i had to think for a few minutes on how i came across wilco... 1. i first heard wilco when i cold bought yhf from a columbia music club thingamajig. loved it instantly. this was in 2004, and so after yhf spent months in my cd player, i went directly to agib. also loved it instantly. then i worked my way around their catalog slowly over the next couple of years. 2. i first saw wilco in 2006 when they came to the tennessee theatre. i had fifth row seats. i've since seen either them or tweedy solo 12 times since...and hoping to add two more to that when they do two nights in nashville at the

way to go cav!! and today's stage would have made for one helluva drinking game: "each time a cyclist hits the floor, take a shot."
-
a bit more mention of contador at the finish of today's stage...but cadel clipped the last-minute effort by contador to grab the stage win (by perhaps the smallest of margins!) man, each stage so far this year has been exciting. in years past, this first week, apart from the prologue (which was left out this year in favor of a road race stage) was a string of sprint stages that could be fairly uneventful, although i will say that i enjoyed last years week one drama between the sprinters. hats off to the planners this year for shaking things up! did you see that climb at today's finish?? a

i was rooting for cav. he's the man.
-
you can say that again. i don't think he's objecting to them being on the list, just maybe the order in which they appear.

very original. garmin sure is having a nice beginning to this year's tour: thor in yellow, victory in the ttt and tyler's stage win today. i'd say the tour would be a success for them right now if vaughters would only cut off those hacky sideburns... i kid. but seriously, they're pretty awful.
-
it was an exciting an eventful stage for the first...even after they neutralized the passage du gois! already theres a split of about 50" between the gc favs contador and schleck. cadel is up there, but my bet is that he cracks, he always does. team time trial tomorrow. should be good!
-
if it's only half the show i saw in nashville a couple months ago, it will be a damn good one. enjoy!!
-
this doesn't surprise me...does it you guys? "most people" wouldn't know good music if it kicked them in the ass, and i'm pretty sure this poll/ranking represents "most people."

so...wait, let me get this straight...you don't like the new fleet foxes??

What is a good point and shoot camera?
welch79 replied to Scott Gyrrr's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
i would suggest not getting too worked up over megapixels. 7-10 mp would probably more than suffice. i've read that, at a point, megapixels are just a way to capitalize on minimal gains. i'd also suggest looking at canons b/c they offer a good balance between point and shoot functionality and auto shooting. admittedly, it's the only camera i have much experience with, so my opinion is biased. panasonic may be just as good. also, don't pay much attention to digital zoom, as it's pretty crappy, focus more on optical zoom, but you shouldn't need more than like 3x. my two cents. -
Yes, all reserved, but in pews. Interesting set up. Beautiful place. Unless you get a seat behind one of the pillars on the floor, there's really not a bad seat. It's not that big a joint, either. Great, great place to see a show.

all doping jokes aside, i really enjoy watching this event. for the past ten years, it means that summer vacation is in full swing. so...anybody wanna speculate/discuss?? i'll admit that i haven't done as much this season keeping up with the team/sponsorship/individual cyclist movement and performance, but i do know that contador won the giro and has his spanish sights on this year's tour again. and the team time trail is day 2!! post here!!

listen, don't get me wrong: it's annoying as hell to read dissenting opinions. i mean, that's what a message board is mostly: fans' opinions. there's also the beauty of never knowing what you'll get, like a treasure hunt. true, folk can bellyache a bit here and there...and there are some true assholes, but also many more nice folks here. but, exposing yourself to opposing views has to be healthy because it forces you to rationalize with yourself why your opinion is what it is. that is to say, it's challenging. i hear ya, though: it can be frustrating. but if you go outside on a beaut
