  1. just saw some up on CL for 500. poster said they bought them off stubhub. searched there and came up with 280/ticket and something more expensive. ridiculous, man.
  2. the bridgestone show was fine, i guess, but it def. wasn't the ryman. it was a big, loud venue. impersonal. not the best place for the avetts to play imo. i am fairly familiar with chattanooga, and i love it! looing forward to the long weekend down there! i was also at the smokies park show, and i wish i could go back and get closer to the stage. i had tickets up on the club level of the stadium, and they were far, far away from the stage, and the sound was echoing off the structure, the video on the jumbotron was out of sync with the sound... i've just been spoiled by seeing their ener
  3. Screw my house...I'm coming over to yours! Sounds yummy!
  4. I'm coming down for the show! After seeing them multiple times over the years at increasingly larger venues (and most recently at the stinkin Bridgestone in Nashville...ick!), I can't wait to see them at a smaller venue. I hated to hear that they weren't playing Asheville for NYE, but I'll take NYEE in Chattanooga.
  5. March 16-20 is a must. I'd also second someone else's sentiment that Anodyne is not to be skipped either. Really, though, it's all good. It's neat to start at the beginning and hear the evolution. It's evident.
  6. 'nuff said. (that is one seriously awesome word salad right there!)
  7. Collect it for what? To look at?! It was made to be played, man. Play it. I'll bet it looks gorgeous spinning all red on that turntable! Of course...the red can't be seen if it stays in its sleeve. I say: spin the red circle!
  8. i lost my dad and my wife's client shot himself in the face, taking his own life. factor me in to this bad week competition.
  9. here're a couple links for you ryan fans: http://www.npr.org/2011/10/24/141659319/ryan-adams-relentless-reinvention and http://www.npr.org/2011/09/30/140934525/ryan-adams-on-world-cafe
  10. damn...some gift you got there... in the words of mr. dynamite: luckeeee!!
  11. good playlist the murph put together there!
  12. agreed. there are two tracks on ST that i skip: can't stand it and my darling.
  13. i'd like to study on that little converted lap desk that glenn is passing as a drum kit. did i see a paperclip taped on there for good measure?? seriously talented group of dudes. how awesome would it have been to be front row in that room??
  14. taylor goldsmith (lead singer) and the drummer are brothers. maybe that explains the emotive gestures. i agree that they seem sincere.
  15. second! thanks Todd. (Scrubs...at least that's what that post made me think of)
  16. whoa. one day after the latest iphone announcement. i think he was suffering. may he rest in peace.
  17. agreed. saw the fleet foxes last night who tried their hand at "noise" to close out their encore of helplessness blues. my remark to my wife as we filed out of the venue: "that encore made me wanna be at a wilco show." point being that they DO make the best noise around. i went to both ryman nights, and took some friends who only knew of wilco, but weren't fans. i had some extra singles so i offered them to them for free. i was a little apprehensive when they opened with LTYT (i was also completely floored!!) b/c i was thinking my friends would be turned off by the feedback. when we left t
  18. for as much as they cared about preventing the secondary market from obtaining tickets...they sure fed em with allowing folk to buy more than one print. it's a damn shame that some schmo probably bought one for $30 and is now trying to fund his weekend by scrapping the two (!) extras he bought just for the sheer purpose of making a shitload of dough. despicable. some would disagree, say it's capitalism or what-have-you. i still say despicable.
  19. it's an iphone app. if you have it, just do a friends search and type in "mikaeljorgensen" as that is his username. then choose to follow him.
  20. he has an instagram account and has been sharing pics he's snapping while they've been on tour. pretty cool.
  21. i would disagree. i think it sounds like a developmentally- appropriate description of a reaction to said posts in the adolescent mind, actually.
