My partner runs a movie theater so I used to (before my daughter was born) watch tons of movies while just hanging around there. I considered watching Garfield (because I loved the Garfield and Friends cartoon when I was a wee lass) but I never got around to it. More recently, I have seen both Garfield live action movies with my daughter. For several months, she insisted that she was Garfield...any time a stranger would ask her name, she would tell them it was Garfield. Now she is a Ninja.

My three year-old and I are psyching ourselves up for this. We watched the sneak peek videos on the Pixar website and now we reenact the whole, "Oh my, I'm talking to a mouse...are you nodding your head? You understand me!? I can't cook! You can cook! When I first saw these toys, I thought they would look cute sitting on the bookcase next to The Wilco Book and I half-imagined they would be fun for playing with my daughter but I never gave much thought to how we would play with them. Now I have funny visions of making them jump around on a stage made of a cereal box. You could spray water on Glenn to get that sweaty drummer look...and you could make Jeff do the Hummingbird dance carefully because his legs have been damaged by his running routine...spin Pat's arms around windmill-style...etc. This actually sounds like fun.

It was thanks to Left of Center playing "Oxygen" that I picked up his first one. Good stuff....I look forward to him making music for a long time.
