  1. There's definitely a few lines that don't seem quite right yet. I think we may need to hear another recording or two to help clarify things.
  2. Good job. Some of the lines are pretty hard to make out. I pretty much got what you have with a few exceptions: I have heard the war and worry of the gospel very fast across the void I have merry broken spoke charging smoke wheels spit and swallowed opioids I am the driver at the wheel of the horror marching circles at the gate Mine eyes have seen the fury so flattered by fate Tonight I'd rather count the warm fuse internally (???) subtract the silence of myself I would rather choose the middle mind of mystery reverse the riddle for my health I want one strange rise overpowering (????) t
  3. Thanks for another great post bbop! I'm pretty sure the "oh" comment happened in Toronto, not Montreal as Jeff said. Anyone else remember this?
  4. You just beat me Kalle, I was just about to start this thread. Another great show, and a completely different setlist from last night to boot. Here's some of the ones I recall: Sunken Treasure, Remember the Mountain Bed, Forget the Flowers, Dreamer in My Dreams, How to Fight Loneliness, Kamera, Heavy Metal Drummer (with shout outs to Rush and Anvil), I'm the Man Who Loves You, Theologians, The Late Greats, Someday Soon, Summerteeth, Pieholden Suite, Country Disappeared, Pecan Pie, You and I (w/Feist), Walken... I'll leave it to bböp to fill in the blanks and do it right (nice meeting you
  5. ^^ I'm not familiar with that amp but it sure does look nice. Just checked out the prices on one of these, pretty much what I figured, expensive . How you liking it so far?
  6. Really enjoyed the show last night. I've been wanting to see a Jeff solo show for ages, so glad he finally came back to Toronto. Would've liked to have met some of y'all but don't know what anyone looks like . We'll be sitting in B12-13 tonight if anyone wants to drop by and say hey. I was happy he played that one. Good Call on that request.
  7. She sure did some great films back in the day, was also one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood in her prime.
  8. ... So glad that Labour of Lust was finally reissued on CD .

  10. This has to be a candidate for best cover ever. Pretty sure I read that Dylan thought this was the definitive version of the song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bng3agUOYiI Neil Young has done some great versions of this song too.

  12. ^^ Love that film. Started watching this last night:
  13. Went to the music store today to get some new monitors, ended up with a new acoustic instead: I played a bunch of different brands and models, eventually it came down to the Gibson J-45 and the Martin HD-28V. I loved both, but the Martin just called to me a bit more. It just sounded so good no matter where on the neck I was playing. Unfortunately it was $500 more than the Gibson, but I knew I'd regret it if I didn't grab it so I had no choice. I'm so happy to finally own one of my "dream" acoustics.
  14. I don't know, that one is perfect in every way in my books.
  15. The deluxe edition has 8 different covers to choose from. I like some of the images, just not a fan of the whole sign holding schtick. Remove the sign from the one you posted and that's a pretty great cover as far as I'm concerned. . .
  16. .. Marvin Gaye - I Want You The Doors - Strange Days
  17. I love the diversity of Dutronc's music: garage rock, psych, pop... You can't go wrong with those first 2 records NP: Ride - Nowhere: 20th Anniversary Edition
  18. RPM Records is another one that does a great job with their reissues. I like what they did with the Jackie DeShannon reissues. I have a few others of theirs that are pretty great: Jacques Dutron, Johnny Hallyday, Twinkle... I'm glad someone mentioned Light in the Attic. They really go the extra distance with their releases, especially with the liner notes.
  19. If you're looking for some good French music SP, I'd recommend Jacques Dutronc: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pQoWFTUqaU RPM put out a great compilation not that long ago called "Et Moi Et Moi Et Moi: Jacques Dutronc 1966-1969" that's worth getting. I also dig Françoise Hardy, Jacques Brel, and Johnny Hallyday's late 60s period. Inspired by this thread, NP:
  20. Nice guitar you have there. I'm looking to get a new acoustic but I'm sort of leaning towards a Gibson J-45 or Martin D-28 or D-18.
  21. That was probably the most boring Oscar telecast I've seen in ages. Anne was okay, though far from stellar, and James seemed stiff and somewhat out of it. Good hosts bring some unscripted spontaneity to the show, these two aren't comedians so they probably don't have that gene. On the plus side I won my oscar pool getting 20 out of 24 right (there wasn't any real surprises so it wasn't really hard to pull that off.)
