Though I don't think this magazine is particularly good in general, Wilco and Todd Snider in the same issue is a must have for me.

That is excellent news .

It's been many years since I last watched this show, still as funny as I remember it though. Paget Brewster should do more comedy, she's so good in this.

The Replacements - Bastards of Young

I guess I'm too late. Hope it turns out great.

I remember seeing that one. If I recall correctly they did "Cut Your Hair," which was probably the closest thing to a hit they had at the time.

Agreed. I wasn't blaming Conan, like I said it's obviously the networks doing. Just venting at the inevitable decline in quality that comes with a more "mainstream" timeslot.

I'm still watching Conan, but it seems that the show is already in a rut. And what happened to the decent musical guests? He used to have some great musical acts, nowadays it's rare that he has anyone on that's interesting: for every Wilco there's a ton of insipid American Idol types on there. Jimmy Fallon seems to be beating him on this front. I'm guessing the network has their agenda and non-mainstream musical acts aren't a part of that.

Totally agree with your statement joss. I dig Oar, but I must admit to not being overly fussed at the thought of Wilco and Beck doing it. I'll probably check it out, but my curiosity is more about the artists involved than the actual material covered.

Nah, that's already been used... maybe for the sequel though .

I got that Rhodes 2-CD reissue a month or so ago. It's great to finally have these albums available again after all these years. Hopefully more people will discover this fantastic songwriter.

I've been listening to a lot of Soul music lately so I figured I'd make a compilation of some of the stuff I've been into. This mix should go along nicely with Joss Ackland's great mix posted above. There's a bunch of great artists here, from well known, to sorta known, to barely known. The songs run the gamut from raw Soul and Rockin' Soul, to pop-Soul and Funk, hailing from Chicago to New Orleans and all points in between. Also included are a few interesting covers of Dylan, CCR, and Doors songs, as well as a song made popular by Elvis. I Hope you enjoy the ride. Sweet Soul for Your

I also recall a Peter "James" Bond (I think he was played by Ed Begley Jr.) and Eric "Stumpy Joe" Childs. edit: I think Eric should be John "Stumpy" Peeps.

Just finished: I seem to be reading a lot of rock memoirs lately. Speaking of which, just started this one:

"Do You Feel Like We Do" - Peter Frampton

These kind of decisions are almost always money based. Hopefully smarter heads prevail and we get the original cast back. Anything less would be a big disappointment, and totally unacceptable.

For my mix I copied various CD tracks with "EAC" to a WAV format, then converted the .wav files in "Foobar2000" to MP3 (245 kbps VO) as the quality is pretty good in this setting. Then I just zipped all the mp3 files so that they could be uploaded/downloaded as 1 file (I used sendspace for hosting the file.)

Try copying the DVD with DVDDecrypter. If the program manages to read the whole disc without any problems, you should be able to burn it to a DVD+R DL and play it in your DVD player without an issue. (I'd recommend IMGburn for burning the disc.)
