    going to Indy?

Here's some opinions of other Hoosiers who have been there (some not so recently since changes have been made) and most of whom have been to Deer Creek, now known as Verizon Wireless - the large outdoor amphitheater shed-type venue that's been around forever north of Indianapolis. I recommend you look at the layout of the place on a seating chart, because the GA lawn tickets actually can get you sort of close compared to other large places where the lawn is way the heck back.
  3. Hey congrats on the day finally arriving! You've been talking about getting married for quite a while, and now HERE IT IS!!! Hope it goes perfectly! Everything - the wedding, the travel, the lifetime together.
  4. Hope your birthday was great, Jamie! WooHoo 21!!!
  5. I've tried my local roaster, and I don't like their coffees. So I confess I'm a Starbucks girl. I always enjoy their custom blends that have a short run ... I'm currently using my last batch of Black Apron Exclusives, the Columbia Narino something or other which I really like, and now I don't think it's available anymore. Oh well, back to Cafe Verona for the time being.
  6. Aimee is opening for Squeeze late summer in Detroit, and I've never seen either of them, so this is a fantastic double-bill. I need to re-watch this DVD: I love the part where her band-mates are interviewed and they state how much they love working with her songs, because she writes songs with efficient structure which makes for easy collaboration and development -- or something along those lines. 7. Sounds like a tasty birthday! Enjoy the rest of your day!!!

  9. "Carried to Dust" due September 9, 2008 I'm waiting patiently for the new CD from Calexico and finally there's been a flurry of news at the Calexico Yahoo Group Casa de Calexico. 1. Here's a Tucson Citizen (local newspaper) video interview with Calexico's Joey Burns where he talks about the new album. http://www.tucsoncitizen.com/video/player....ile=052208calx2 2. New song -- "The News About William" Courtesy Heinz Wagner at the Yahoo Group: (I uploaded this to MediFire myself so as to not abuse Heinz' bandwidth) 3. 10. I love Scott McCaughy and Peter Buck. Maybe I'll find a few tasty cuts in here when I get around to listening to it after work. It is streaming at Yeproc ... OK, I listened to this one: "The Yankee Flipper" http://www.yeproc.com/artist_info.php?artistId=12539
  11. Man, I'm beginning to think the people of Charleston just canNOT be pleased!
  12. Well then this poll is meaningless!
  13. love Love LOVE this band! Great news - thanks Myst! And not that anyone asked, but IMO, in this increasingly costly realm of gasoline-prices/time-on-the-road -- they are still seriously road-trip worthy!
  14. I don't understand the mentality of it being funny to piss people off.
  15. No problem. However, I am having a problem with the video. I am still waiting for the hilarity to ensue.
  16. Now that man needs a copy of this show! Love your passion about this. So I will send the CDs to you in the mail if you give me your mailing address. I made copies for the people attending, and I have an extra set or two. If anyone else cannot download from torrents (like me), send me a private message with your address and I'll send CDs for a while - perhaps until Owl can get this uploaded to Owl & Bear. I was never able to figure out the port forwarding business, but I'm happy to announce that yesterday The Geek Squad was at my house and he said the reason for that was my
  17. Nice! Thanks for sharing it with us, GtrPlyr.
  18. I wonder who Harry Nilsson would have voted for? (Yes, Drew - I'm still on my Harry Nilsson kick! )
  19. Oh good, finally someone agrees with me on the Four Horsemen (see above ). And I would never have known this song unless Wilco had played it at the shows during AGIB tour. It was discussed many many times here at VC then. And ... Hi Derek! Haven't seen ya round here for awhile.

    Sky Blue Sky

I think it's a beautiful record ... but I also can't wait to hear a new one. I can't say that I play SBS often, definitely not more than other Wilco albums. But mostly because I like to listen to a lot of other music, too. And because I know Wilco's music so well, I kinda had to stop listening to all of it so often, as I was afraid I could start getting tired of it. That can happen to me if I'm not careful. And I would never want to get burnt out on Wilco, so I try to pace myself. Hey - seeing Wilco live is better than anything, and then the songs are that much better and fresher,
