Thanks guys! Reading that article that Sir Stewart linked to, I had not realized it had been 10 years since he last toured. I may be missing Wilco at Pritzger Pavilion that night, but wow -- I'm really looking forward to this.

Hey Johnny! Good luck with your new show!

I'm pretty sure the only Stevie Wonder record I ever owned was "Songs in the Key of Life" Sadly, I never went any further than that, even though I totally loved that double-album. You know how it goes -- you always mean to listen further but not enough time, too many other bands, etc etc. Now I am going to see him perform next week with a friend who is a BIG fan and so I feel the need to be a little more familiar with his catalog and it's pretty damn big. Any ideas what he plays these days when he performs live? What other albums should I get? Thanks for your help.

Sounds like an incredible day, Tracy!

Robyn Hitchcock...Sex, Food, Drugs & Insects
Wendy replied to jimtweedy1977's topic in Someone Else's Song
Me too. No Sundance here. Briggs was completely infectious to me, and the live version of the fantastic Minus 5 song Cigarettes, Coffee and Booze* Being a new convert, I have been getting into Robyn Hitchcock from his recent material and then going backwards, so the new set of out-of-print older work being released in October on YepRoc sounds interesting. *If that's on the DVD, I'm going to hunt it down somehow. I absolutely loved the show I saw on that tour, and that song was incredibly fun. -
Hope you're okay, Miller. ... and a belated to you!!!

A place to whine and act peeved and put upon
Wendy replied to kidsmoke's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Because of all the rain in the last two weeks, our NE Indiana lakes are FULL of water and cottages/homes are threatened by the high water levels. LAST weekend the lakes were closed for motor boats. No wake. In my experience, over all these years of having a family lake cottage to enjoy, NEVER has the lake been "closed" by the DNR. Now, I admit, last weekend it was kinda fun having the whole lake to swim in, people kayaking and sailing and floating on rafts wherever they wanted, not worried about being run over by a jet ski or power boat, but ... ... the DNR is still keeping our lake cl -

AAAaahhhhhh yes ... love it! I've heard it performed a handful of times over the years. And you are so right -- it's soooo good live. Really one of my favorites because of this: ... the parts of that song where Jeff and John have perfect timing on their vocals. Especially this part of the song that goes: When I forget how to talk, I sing Just stunning.

Ryan Adams. Mostly because I have seen Ryan Adams and was EXTREMELY impressed-- never gotten the chance to see Bright Eyes but I'd listen to SarahC.

1. He played bass for Beth Orton on tour last year. Correct me if I'm wrong (because I wasn't there) but I think he performed at Ed Burch's farewell show at the Hideout. He was seen on stage in July with Iron & Wine at Pitchfork Festival in Chicago. He has been playing with Marvin Tate in Chicago on his new CD "Family Swim" 2. Can't help you with that one.

I totally forgot to remind him. But I did send him a PM when I remembered that I forgot. In summary, I am obviously not a very good reminder-er and can barely keep track of myself. I should stop offering to remind people, or set some kind of reminder for myself to remind others. But I will need someone to remind me to do that.

You know, I'm having a deja vu here, plus a little jog of my memory. I had pit seats for the last Wilco show at Wexner Center 2 years ago, and I think you're right, these are pit seats. I'm even remembering being confused last time about this same thing, and I called the venue, and they confirmed they were pit seats(orchestra pit left is OL, orchestra pit right is OR). Nice presale Wilcoworld! You are so good to your fans!
-
I got mine -- the presale is on. I'm not sure, but I think I got pit seats. Where is OL row 2?
-
Why are people worried this won't sell out? Isn't this the same venue Wilco played in 2 years ago? 2500 capacity? Maybe I'm wrong about the place. Edit: Oh, I get it - the Ohio/Michigan rivalry thing.

... and if you want, you can watch the Chicago House of Blues show which was filmed for MSN Music ... http://music.msn.com/crowdedhouse Nicely done, too. I have to add -- at first I was a bit underwhelmed with the new CD, but I love all things Neil Finn and I found many of the tunes grew on me with more listens. Thanks to Melissa (Clouds of Fluff) for this link

I'm sorry we didn't snag one of your Crowded House posters at the Ann Arbor show. Those sold out by the end of the show, and when I saw Crowded House again in Chicago, no one did any posters. . But you do very good work, so I hope you get the green light from TMM.

Hope there was an extra dose of cheering and adoration on stage last night for you!
