  1. Low should come on at around 7:30 and I'm assuming they play for 45 minutes or at the most 1 hour. That's kinda standard. So allowing for the set-up change between bands, I would say probably 8:30 / 8:45 / 9:00 for Wilco.
  2. OK, babes: Here's the final deal: 5:30 Nicholson's 625 Walnut, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202 (513) 564-9111 - Reservation for "Via Chicago party" - They might put us on the patio if weather permits. - They might not have just one giganto table, but all of us will be together, which is fine. - They do add in gratuity for large parties, so your tip will be included in your total on your bill. - They will give you your full bill on paper, but they want to take only 1 credit card for the party in order to get us out of there on time (they can't be running 25 credit cards at the last minut
  3. A ticket fairy! They're so beauuuutiful!
  4. Our party is getting huge! I will be calling Tuesday morning to make reservations. I'll ask for 5:30 and hope that time works for both the restaurant and all of you. Low opens the show at 7:30. Yay!
  5. I love these kinds of reports -- so much passion for the music. Samorama, thanks for sharing this review with us, as well as your Edward Burch post - spoken from the heart. Very cool that you could attend this one so far away. Just out of curiosity, in what venue was this held?
  6. I love Low. Low is to me a very solitary listening kind of music, very moody. I love listening to them late at night, on the headphones. At the same time they can be sonically beautiful, they can also be somewhat disturbingly intense. The voices and harmonies are almost other-wordly. VIDEOS: Here's the video from "Monkey" which is from The Great Destroyer (2005) which I love. It's less slowcore. Low - "Whitetail" from Things We Lost in the Fire (2001) which some people think is their best. This is gorgeous ... "Shame" from Long Division (1995). Mimi Parker's voice is haunting.
  7. Yeah, that's what I figured ... I wasn't sure you'd have internet access, so that's why I jumped in here. I'll update my original list above and keep it accurate, and soon I'll call for reservations and report back.
  8. OK, so Nicholson's sounds good to me as well. Let's just cut to the chase and start making a head count for the reservations, because we don't want to get shut out on show night if we wait too long. We have a large party forming here. Who is coming? Yes: M. Christine + 3 Bethanydear + 6 Viatroy Leo Wendy Ms. Yvonne + Courtney foolnrain97 + 1 (*maybe 2 more) Mt. Bed + Pocahontas + 2 Johnny Lackey + 3 Elixir Sue (LAST UPDATED MONDAY 11:30 P.M. - I'll call Tues. morning about resv.)
  9. Hey, welcome to Via Chicago! We love Ann Arbor! Especially ... The Ark
  10. Aw, Candy Floss, that wasn't the intent. I was just attempting to reinforce that this could happen to anybody at any time, and how to work around it and not to let it throw you. I'm sorry you got stuck in the TM mess. They goofed, for sure. In brighter news, he'll be coming back to Chicago soon, right? I'm sure you know this already, but if you buy his new album from iTunes you'll get a presale ticket opportunity for that show. I know, I know ... small consolation. I'm sorry.
  11. That same thing happened to me once upon a time ... and I did exactly the same as you, aricandover. Just pick any old country. The point is to get your tickets reserved and then complain to them about their stupid website problems later. Hey, I'm happy for you and Alison though!!! You guys have been waiting a long time for a Ryan Adams show, if I recall correctly.
  12. I "third" that motion on the Avett Brothers. They are wicked good. Don't miss them.
  13. Califone plays about 2 hours if you nudge them back for an encore (oh, so worth it, too -- 2 or 3 more songs!) I'm not sure who Cutis Harvey is, but I can tell you about The Bitter Tears. They are weird, but funny - folk/pop/bawdy bar-room crazies. They dress up in torn wedding dresses or cut-off shorts or girls' shiny blouses ... kinda Beetlejuicy. So you are forewarned. But they are fun for 45 minutes, and 3 of them clean up nicely when they join Califone on stage to provide a horn section, and that is where it counts, of course. But they are great songwriters and certainly I have hea
  14. But isn't that the same shipping promise on the SBS preorder?
  15. I'll be sitting next to banana girl in the pit.
  16. Beautiful! Life is so funny
  17. me too!!! So where's the pre-show gathering?
  18. that is hilarious, Mr. Owens. "inferior band" ... Must be a slow day at the Jayfarrar.net board, eh?
