  1. Favorite Wilco opener: Deerhoof
  2. My dream 2nd encore: Red-Eyed & Blue> I Got You I'm A Wheel We've Been Had Outtamind Jeff doesn't need to banter at all for those 5: just kick 'em out at the end of the show. I would leave with a smile on my face and in need of new boxers.
  3. I don't think that Low's set (at least not the ones I saw in Indy and Cincy) showcased that at all. I kept hoping for something more out of him on that guitar as there were a couple quick flashes where he showed that he is capable of doing something interesting and technically above the rest of the work he did during the show. But it never really materialized unfortunately. I don't doubt the accuracy of your statement. I just wish he had brought out some of his more technical songs.
  4. I'm not sure what exactly I was expecting, but I've had time to reflect now on seeing Low open for Wilco in Cincinnati and Indianapolis last week. I was kind of enthused to see Low because I'd heard really good things and seen some people's reactions here on VC, and I've gotta say... I don't get it. They almost put me to sleep in Cincinnati and, if it weren't for my friend's offer of a free beer while chatting in the lobby, I would have remained in my seat and fallen asleep the next night in Indianapolis. There were a few bright moments, but the songwriting was very monotonous: not a lo
  5. I got dibs on You Are My Face as well, but I'm secretly hoping for Walken.
  6. www.highroadtouring.com They used to have Wilco shows posted there before they showed on wilcoworld, but that hasn't been the case lately.
  7. I dunno. I can't get into this song. I think it ranks somewhere below "It's Just That Simple" and slightly above "My Darling."
  8. Except for I like Wishful Thinking and wouldn't mind hearing it live again.
  9. Side With The Seeds, hands down. Prior to the album's release, I thought Walken or Impossible Germany by far, but now that I've seen Side, yikes. Impossible Germany is probably still my favorite Wilco song though.
  10. Me and my buddy from the Chicago area will be there AND in Cincy. I'm pumped.
  11. All That You Can't Leave Behind could have been a killer EP by just taking the first 6 songs off the album. The second half of that album is absolute garbage. And as soon as I heard "Vertigo," I knew I would never have a reason to listen to this band again. That said, I am completely hit-and-miss with U2. My intros to the band were Joshua, Achtung, and All That You Can't Leave Behind. I do not like any of those 3 albums all the way through; I find myself skipping tracks frequently. Therefore, I've never felt a desire to check out the rest of their catalogue. This news about them worki
  12. Pick a song...any song. They're all better live.
  13. I'm in. Got a buddy comin' down from the NW 'Burbs of Chicago to hit the Cincy and Indy shows with me.
  14. As a 23 y/o hetero male, the temptation to make fun of this guy is quite incredible. Maybe we as a group on VC should get together some hilarious answers and submit it to this guy just for a laugh.
  15. Those're my top 3 right there. But I loved most of Twin Cinema, maybe 'cause it was my introduction to the band.
  16. It's odd and my reaction was "ouch."
  17. What puzzles me is those of you who are saying Twin Cinema was unimpressive except for a few songs because this song would have fit right in there as the laid back arrangement does not fit with either Mass Romantic or Electric Version. In any case, I've loved all three NP albums and I love this song. I can't wait.
  18. I'm sorry. I just listen to music because I enjoy it. It doesn't necessarily sway me one way or the other if the song is used in a commercial. In fact, since 99% of what I like doesn't exactly qualify as mainstream, when I hear it in a commercial or during a ballgame, I smile. I'm happy that band is being recognized elsewhere besides in my home and my car. Frankly, I see your argument. I think you're a little over-zealous with it and almost a bit extreme. On the other hand, they're musicians. It's what they're doing for a living. If you're told at work tomorrow they're gonna give you
  19. Just based on your lyrical argument... If Walken made it, how did this song not make it? There must have been other factors at play than just lyrics.
  20. There's something about "Don't Let Me Down" on that rooftop performance that makes me so incredibly happy to hear that song and see John Lennon sing it. Maybe it's just that he duffs part of the second verse and looks over at Paul and just grins.
  21. I got it when it leaked a month or whatever before the album came out. The album still has not been opened because I wore myself out listening to it and still haven't felt any desire to go back to it.
