  1. I passed on an opportunity to see Warren Zevon. Having read his bio, it would have been a good time to see him. Sober and playing really well. Damn.
  2. I subscribe to Moby's Twitter feed and saw this last night: "up high in the mesa(mesas?)above santa fe playing cover songs with jeff tweedy. neil armstrong just spoke. this is very interesting." Hmmm. Why wasn't I invited?
  3. I saw him last week in NY. He, and the Jicks, were great. They played nothing from RET, unfortunate because I love that as well. Regardless, it was a great concert. Really, really good in fact. Interestingly, they changed to a smaller venue in NY too. They also switched it to an earlier night. I'm not sure who "they" are, but.....
  4. You could call the venue and ask about handicapped seating.
  5. Saw Malkmus and co. last night in NY. Truly one of the best, most surprising concerts I've seen in years. The Jicks were amazing, a really really fun, rocking show.
  6. Stephan Malkmus in NYC tonight.
  7. I don't consider Wilco a jam band. I enjoy some jam-ish type bands; Phish, longtime Dead fan, Allmans. But generally I don't love the bands that fall into that camp. I went to Moe.Down earlier this month (I was offered free passes). I enjoyed TV On the Radio, but Moe.? Ugh. They just don't speak to me. I have friends who are fans of jam type music and we have endless debates about this. It often comes down to a matter of staying within the song structure. If it goes outside, jam band. It bugs me when the music turns into noodling with no direction. Phish keeps things moving along in
  8. I was in the mezzanine and was told by a security guard that I had to sit down after standing for the first 3 songs or so. I was incredulous. Someone behind me must have complained. There was only one row behind me, and I'm 5' on a good day, so I can't imagine I was really impeding someone's view very much. Anyway, the guard was kind of not nice about it, so we moved and found a place near the back of the orchestra to stand. It kind of put a bummer on the evening, truthfully. I won't ever go to the Wang again unless I have really good seats.
  9. They also had the LP for sale. I didn't buy it, because I preordered. But it was there.
  10. I'll do this, hoping to roll into town around 4, and the hotel is nearby. Thanks RM!
  11. All this time, I thought the show was on the 22nd! That's what happens with no ticket to look at! Room booked and everything. Somehow, I was able to move mountains today. Kid coverage, dog coverage, husband changed a flight for a business trip(thank you Delta!), somehow got a new hotel room (thank you Hilton Honors!). My plan is to be at Jacob Wirths', then apres concert at The Franklin for a civilized martini after. Whew!
  12. As long as Wilco doesn't expect me to get my "freaky deaky on."
  13. Power's out in rural CT, but we got the generator going so all's pretty good. Kids' first day of school is cancelled. We've had a whole bunch of bridges wash out and a giant tree fell over our road so it's slow going. The police are being pretty testy.
  14. I have one of those bird lights. Does that make me as cool as Wayne Coyne? Eh. Probably not.
  15. So, I'm waaaayyyyy late to the game on this one. I saw that they were touring with Dawes, and I enjoy them, so I decided to check out BT. Turns out, I love them! Cool!!
  16. I got a free trial through Bob Lefsetz so I'm trying it out. I don't love listening though my computer anyway, and the partial album thing is annoying. I am listening to some things that I wouldn't have otherwise, so there's that. I don't know yet if I'm going to keep it.
  17. I just checked the Boston Craigslist and there are tons of tickets being offered. If I'm understanding the conditions correctly, though, will call tickets will be given and since they are nontransferable, then only that ticket holder will be immediately let in. So it would seem that buyers of the 2nd market tickets will be left standing outside. scalpers win, fans lose. So, it would seem that there will be lots of empty seats, right? My question is this: will they let people move up to better seats that are empty? But, somehow I don't think there will be many empty seats, my guess is th
  18. Yesterday I was only pulling up balcony, so I was pretty happy with mezzanine after about 7 pulls today. I haven't been to the Wang in years, but I recall it was pretty steep with closely hanging mezzanine and balcony? I'm thinking that the Franklin would be an excellent place for my husband and I to have a cocktail and nice walk over to the venue.
  19. Just an FYI, I was just checking my Frontgate account for the heck of it. (We're picking up our new puppy tomorrow morning and will miss the presale ) My old password is now invalid and had to create a new one. I've had the same one for a long time and this would've been an unwelcome surprise if I were trying to get tickets tomorrow without having checked it!
  20. I just got an email offering extras of the on-site produced SS poster: http://www.ghost-town.net/posters/posters2011/Wilco.php
