i was interested in seeing BoH open for Pearl Jam, but apparently their change in record label has also created changes in other areas...they are insisting that i sign a release that gives the copyright of photos i take, w/ no compensation due me. uh, no thanks. i'll sit outside until you are done.

yep, i'm good to go for both shows. should be fun.

yeah, cassette-only. i'm sure a blog scour can turn up the mp3s. edit - http://www.discogs.com/Pussy-Galore-Exile-On-Main-St/release/1214290 Recorded with Pussy Galore Mobile Unit Aug 24-26 1986. Originally released on cassette only, this was booted onto vinyl i think i have the PG _Year One_ tape, but not Exile. the rumor i'd heard in the past is that Sonic Youth heard about PG's plans, and they were gonna do a cover version of the White Album (or maybe it was Sgt Pepper's). too bad that didn't happen. -

that's just crazy talk. when the band is in full power at the 'something in my veins/bloodier than blood' part, it's shivers down the spine time. every time. -
just find a local taxi and call 'em for an estimate

that's a strong reason to head to the cheap seats. that guy is super annoying.
-

i've not heard of 3 (mountain man, brenda, deep blue organ trio) but i've seen all the others aside from avi buffalo, who i'll also be seeing @ ATP this year (The Books are playing that too). Rick Bishop has been a favorite of mine for a long time, and he's an incredible guitar player. along w/ his brother Alan and friend Charlie, they recorded a ton of records as Sun City Girls...check 'em out! sadly Charlie died of cancer in '08, and the remaining brothers ended the project.

gotcha. i remember when the Conet Project came out, and the Aquarius Records news letter was raving about it. i didn't buy a copy.
-
i guess my confusion stems from how Irdial is able to assert copyright on these transmissions...they didn't create them.
-
which is weird, since how does Irdial own copyright to a public transmission??? hell, you can download all the stuff for free http://irdial.hyperreal.org/the%20conet%20project/

thanks for the info. i'm trying to juggle two shows...i'm already confirmed for Buzzcocks, but would hate to pass up a chance to also shoot PJ that same night if i get approved.
-
just got some info...some great additions, including the truly incredible Sir Richard Bishop!
-
about what time did PJ get onstage?
-
is there an opening band for this tour?
-
well it might be the setup of the turntable rather than a pressing issue...i've not had any problems though i haven't done multiple playbacks yet
-
if anyone in eastern MA is looking for a copy, i saw one @ the Peabody location of Newbury Comics yesterday.
-
absolutely. he's an electrifying player.

no women mentioned yet? Thalia Zedek/Chris Brokaw (Come) one of THEE best guitar bands ever. and Guy Kyser/Roger Kunkel (Thin White Rope) also deserve a mention.
