This is so sad. So many great musicians have been dying recently And Etta was one of the best.

Loving the new album so far, sounds a bit like Whiskeytown and I can definitely hear Gold on this, which is awesome.

Eerie how he predicted his own death, maybe it was suicide?

SITR is pretty much Spiders Part 2, but I think it's great. The other bonus tracks are good, but nothing extraordinary.

What's the booklet like? I preordered the iTunes version since it came with an extra track, but I may pick up the deluxe version of the cd if the 52 page booklet that comes with it is worth having. -
Saw him the other night with The Hold Steady. It was a really great show.

Something like 48 Hours or 29 would be awesome. I love the raw feel to those records, and he hasn't really done anything like that in a while. That said, I do like the new song quite a bit and am eagerly looking forward to hearing the rest of the album.

Gonna get the iTunes version, for the extra tracks. I'll probably wind up getting the CD version at some point too, just because artists I really love I like to have physical copies of their albums as well.

I can definitely see that perspective, sometimes the vast amount of music available can be overwhelming. My biggest complaint about the service so far though is the interface, it does seem a little half finished, especially when browsing for music. But the service itself is great for what it is. I went ahead and got the $9.99 premium plan so I could listen on my phone and without ads, it seems worth it so far.

Believe all the hype. Spotify is awesome.

Heh, nice to see Wilco being recognized among the greats. Not that it's surprising, but they are a little less known than those other bands.

No but looks real interesting, lots of good artists on that list.

Maybe I'm weird, but I like a lot of Neil's stuff from this decade. Greendale, Prairie Wind, and Living With War are just as good as anything he put out in the 70's, in my opinion. Living With War was the most emotional thing he's put out since Tonight's the Night, he's practically in tears on a few of the songs. I don't see how you couldn't appreciate that. I haven't heard this new recording yet but I'm looking forward to it since although it might not be his best period, it is certainly one of his most interesting and it sounds like he has a real solid group of musicians backing him on it.

There are 30-second previews of the songs on III/IV on iTunes right now. I'm really looking forward to this.

Wtf? Led Zeppelin, Kid Rock, and Pink Floyd are already on iTunes. The people who wrote this article clearly have no idea what they're talking about. If anything I think they might be about to announce their cloud service, or their iteration of the Lala software they acquired recently.

Would be nice to have a release date, though.

Bummer. I really wish I could have gone. Maybe Wilco will come to Charlottesville again anyways.

HMD Jesus, Etc. Ashes of American Flags I'm The Man Who Loves You Muzzle of Bees According to my Last.fm profile though the songs would be: HMD Handshake Drugs Via Chicago Ashes Jesus, Etc. I guess those two songs are different because I listen to a lot of different live versions, rather than mostly the studio versions. http://www.owlandbear.com/wilco-archive/ They played it acoustic a lot last winter, as far as I know there is no studio recording of that version.

Sweet, I'm going to the Charlottesville show for sure.

Awesome. -
Last I heard they were more interested in playing video games than making a new album so this is very exciting news, I'm definitely looking forward to it.

1. Radiohead 2. Wilco 3. No but it would be awesome.

I guess I'm one of the few that have actually enjoyed most of his post 70's output. Admittadly the 80's were pretty weak for the most part, but Trans and Freedom were both excellent albums. All of his 90's albums were solid, and as far as his 00's albums go most of them were really good. Especially Greendale and Living With War. LWW was his most emotionally raw album since Tonight's the Night (he's almost in tears on a few songs), and Prairie Wind is classic too. Oh and let's not forget about Greendale. It seems like even now, a lot of fans are still expecting a repeat of Harvest or After th
