  1. I love these threads because I'm such a guitar geek. That and the idea of getting a kid his first guitar. Pretty much agree with everything "the fliz1" says. Mexi Fender's are great for beginners, intermediate players and pros alike. The Fender Highway 1 series of Stratocasters and Teles are good value for the money and assembled in the good old USA ($700-800 USD). The Paul Reed Smith SE (Student Edition) series are another good line of inexpensive electrics. There's good logic here and not only for the reasons mentioned. Acoustics (generally)have a wider fingerboard. A bit m
  2. Good question. Mr. A. Bird does not appear to have any shows of his own scheduled for that time frame on his tour/Myspace page. Wouldn't that make for a nice treat. And while I'm fantasizing ... I'd love to see Leroy Bach there as well.
  3. Noticed that, started to comment on it and decided to give the guy a break. Also looks like they are in the midst of a solar eclipse...
  4. Yeah, coming to terms with that little detail myself. Why? Fixed it for ya. Oh, and in case you missed it. More info Posted by a new member named Jeffy.
  5. It was forty years ago today. Otis Redding: September 9, 1941
  6. Uh oh...a Southern boy in Chi-Town for a week: Yowza!
  7. When Campbell hit the ground and ripped off his chin strap I knew the poor kid was probably done for the season. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3144939
  8. Create a folder, move them into there; ( You may have to upload them again, I dunno. I saved mine initially into a folder). Once they're saved in a folder, the embed code from any individual file within that folder will display it as a playlist. PS: Although not technically participating in this "swap" between you folks, I've only been helping for the selfish reason of possibly discovering stuff I missed out on this past year. So get to cracking!
  9. Crow: I'll add my voice to the group who advocates you going out and finding the first record Everything all the Time. I too feel it's an overall stronger effort, with not a dud in the bunch. Good group to see in a live setting too. Humble, down to earth dudes.
  10. Well I've never been to Nashville...*hmm*
  11. Note To All: In the below Divshare Player you will find the 10 Best submission of our friend and board member joss ackland's spunky backpack. Through circumstances we are unable to determine, he was unable to post this himself. Carry On.... joss ackland's spunky backpack Top 10
  12. If I understand you correctly, form the dashboard page @Divshare click on the folder you want to "up" here in the forum. You should get a page that shows all the files within the folder. Hover over "share" beneath on of the files within the folder and you'll get an embed link for the entire folder and it's contents. That's what you'd paste here. Looks like this:
  13. All three of those are awesome, especially "Move on Up". Whatever they got: Bring it. I'm on board with it
  14. Use the "Add Reply" button at the bottom of the forum page. From the "post" page, look under "Options", and select "HTML On- Auto linebreak mode" Paste your "embed" info. from Divshare, LastFM etc into the text window. You should be done. Jimmy's baker's dozen+one
  15. Which, to be clear is a great little flick. NW: and This was lots of fun.
  16. Nothing up this season, yet. But you gotta love the glow from the old classic C9 bulbs; (from a few years back).
  17. Charlie Brown Christmas since I'm a Peanuts devote and a sentimental bum. It's a Wonderful Life is great although not even close as my fav. Capra film. And, it's true, there are so many great ones not listed here. Just to mention a few: Shop Around the Corner The Bishops Wife The Man Who Came to Dinner (love it man, love it) Since You Went Away (Just noticing these last three all have the great character actor Monty Wooley) And perennial fav. Christmas In Connecticut.
  18. Week 16 Miami, week 17 NYG. Really pulling for the Steelers this week.
  19. Listening to "in Rainbows" disc 2 now. Frankly I was really looking forward to this (huge fan and all, and there have been some real gems in the unreleased/b-side tracks over the years). After the first two listens I find this pretty weak and wishing they'd not released this as a companion to the proper LP. Love "in Rainbows" but I suppose I'm just spoiled at this point and my expectations were set to high.
  20. I had a Rickenbacker 360/12 I affectionately referred to as "you lousy piece of shite" each time I picked it up and it was out of tune. Which was every time I picked it up. That count?
  21. The Bootsy Collins model. Awesomeness Inc.
  22. Andrew is fantastic live, enjoy that one. NP: "wakin up feeling good and lim-ber"
