In no particular order (actually, chronologically as I'm going through my 2014 concerts journal), all shows in Boston area unless noted: 1. Camper Van and Cracker, January 17, always a highlight show for me 2. Soulive/Bowlive, March 19 (with Susan Tedeschi and Joe Russo) 3. Drive By Truckers, March 21 (first time seeing them) 4. War on Drugs, April 17 (another first time) 5. Warren Haynes and Boston Pops playing the music of Jerry Garcia, May 15 6. Lockn' (can I list the entire festival-and exclude Willie Nelson and Petty)-fantastic 4 days of music for me 7.Tweedy 8. Allmans at Beacon, Octob

Love this show. Mostly because I have a signed framed poster hanging in my office Yes indeed! I was there, another memorable day/night.

I was at that Lucinda show at HOB. The Friday night of second weekend. Charlie Sexton sat in. I have some good photos. -
I don't get the Joan Jett induction, but that's just me. I have no problem with Green Day being inducted.

Last time Wilco played JF, there were no night shows or band members sitting in with anyone as i recall. Wilco came, conquered and moved on. -

Yeah, both weekends at the Fairgrounds would never happen. Was happy to see them there in 2011 (or was it '12?). A festival set is never as satisfying as a full blown headlining show, but since I'm going anyway, might as well have Wilco on the Acura stage. I don't see how they could play one of the smaller clubs at night. Could you imagine them in the Maple Leaf, or Howlin' Wolf? Folks would be hanging from the rafters. The place I'd like to see them at for a JazzFest night show is the Mahalia Jackson Theater. Saw Mule there in '13, love the venue (and one of the best Mule shows I've ev -
Never mind, just called HOB for set times and they told me Soulive goes on at 8:00! Woohooo!

Soulive is playing the Paradise on January 2, so I'm wondering if that wouldn't prevent them from playing Boston tonight as a matter of their contract. But Lettuce is available!

Didn't they do Tomorrow Never Knows with Weir? Have they ever done it just as Wilco?- 216 replies

Not happy to read this news. But not unprecedented. At the first Solid Sound, Wilco did not play Friday night (there was no major headliner). Wilco played only Saturday night, and Tweedy did a solo acoustic set to close it out on Sunday afternoon. I don't care who they bring in, I would prefer to see two full Wilco sets Friday and Saturday night. But I'm going Either Way.

Me too, very mysterious: Boston Opener Surprise TTB’s final two shows of 2014 are at the House of Blues in Boston on December 12 and 13, and we’re doing something different that we hope you’ll enjoy. We’ve booked an amazing opening act for each night, but we’re keeping them secret until the curtain comes up on the night of the show. Your only hint: both bands/artists have collaborated with TTB before. Trust us, you won’t want to miss either one, so be sure to show up early and get ready for a great night of music. I haven't spent a lot of time thinking about this yet, but Krasno comes to

I love seeing bands that I love play covers. The choice in songs speaks to me about them as musicians, and people. There's millions of songs written that don't get played, why not have a band you like to see play some of them? And as for SS '13, I've read here comments of several folks who were disappointed with the all cover Friday night show. I don't know what to say about that, as that night was one of the most fun nights of live music I've had in decades of seeing shows.- 216 replies

Do it! Can never go wrong seeing Jack and Jorma. And give them one "Hot Fuckin Tuna" for me and the gang from the Academy of Music days.
-
First and foremost, I would love to have 2 Wilco sets, Friday and Saturday nights. All else is gravy.

So many great possibilities to think about. Besides the obvious euphoria of having the 'Mats or Television play, I love the idea of Richard Thompson, in any format. And my personal favorite choice would be Los Lobos. Hidalgo played last year and remarked what a fabulous place it was to play, so hoping they can get the full band there for '15.

WILCO Live Tonight Listening/ Comments
worldrecordplayer replied to roadhse ma's topic in Just A Fan
Stupid me, I didn't even look here to join in to the listening party. That would have been fun. Was a rough day here in my house with the passing of my wife's mom in the morning, but by the time Wilco hit the stage our kids were here and listening to the entire show was a great and well needed uplift in spirits. And Wilco sounded great! -

I don't go to the rail. I'm happy being at the soundboard. It has been different over the years (subject to my memory). I think SS 1 or 2, they opened the gates to Joe's Field on Saturday at like 5:00, a little while before whoever was playing in front of Wilco. My memory is that at the last SS they opened the field much earlier, maybe all day. I could be wrong about all that. There's a lot of stuff going on all day and exhibits to see. I like checking out the music, my wife plants herself in the comedy show and we meet up and check out everything.
