That's a shame. I saw his show at the MFA a few years ago and it was great.

It came out in 2005, before City of Thieves so I would bet your library has it. I haven't read it but it has pretty great reviews. (And in looking into this I learned that Benioff is married to Amanda Peet.)

I really loved City of Thieves so I picked this one up. It's good. It's a simpler story and a fairly quick read. Have you read his short story collection (When the Nines Roll Over (and Other Stories))?

It's too bad if it is true (and it certainly appears to be what's happening). Overall I think he's done a great job. But when you fold like that, someone's got to take the blame.

I just went out and bought the deluxe version. I have not listened to the stream or tracked it down via other methods so I'm looking forward to getting home tonight and listening to it all for the first time.

As another complete aside, this is absolutely correct. Such a great album.

Agreed. And I really really hope that “Hallelujah” is a new REM song and not a new REM cover of the Leonard Cohen song. Because the world does not need another cover of that song ...

Agreed (although I'd back it up to Chronic Town). For most of high school and the first year or so of college I listened to the Dead, Dylan, and the Beatles and a few others. Some of my friends were raving about Murmur and I liked it but it didn't totally grab me. But when Reckoning came out there was no going back. I must have listened to Harborcoat a thousand times. And REM led me to Husker Du, the Minutemen, the Feelies, the Replacements, and so many other great bands.

I'm also reading the Continuum/33 1/3 book about this. One of my favorite albums ...
