  1. Your opinion. Again, YHF and AGIB were not mastered as well as Being There or Summerteeth. My opinion. I might say that the actual mixing on YHF was genius. Because without O'Rourke's mixing that album might have been a disaster.
  2. It's not the format, it's the mixing and mastering. Even if it was done on purpose, it was done poorly.,
  3. I thought that was pretty good. But my favorite is "Silver and Gold" -- I'm surprised I'm the only one to mention this so far.
  4. Yes. Since YHF, the albums have been mastered at a very low level. When I put in pre-YHF albums, I can pump them up really high before they start to sound like crap. Unfortunately to me YHF and AGIB sound very muddy. Case in point: the first notes of "At Least That's...", you're like, "Has the album started yet?"
  5. Wow! This is great! The world needs some good scientists.
  6. Was listening to this for the first time in years on the way to work. I would definitely get "If You're Feeling Sinister" above all of their records.
  7. When we had our twins, my project at work made my kids Wilco Fan In Training onesies. You could probably spend about 25 minutes on your computer and make a iron on to your specifications.
  8. This was a great show. In addition to the show I ran into Greg at the bar before the show. We got to talk about about 10 minutes about all kinds of cool stuff. Pretty nice to shoot the breeze with a musical hero of mine. If you have not seen him and are thinking about it, do it. Greg is a national treasure. His folk music tells a story of America's past and he has a great artistic insight to today's America. 9. You hit the nail on the head.
  10. You could probably make a better "more serious" list if you wanted to. not that I'm a fan, but that Drudge report guy should probably get mentioned.
  11. Sounds like a great boss. My boss just came in with a box of freebees too. It was an assortment of Learning Tree mouse pads, Sun/Java flashlights, and bookmarks. Good for you. Enjoy the new CD!
  12. Buying an "import" CD of music made in the USA is almost as insulting as buying pharmaceuticals that were researched, developed, and made in the USA from Canada at a reduced price. I'll have to check out the tote bag deal. I still have the Ramones/Wilco shirt. Even though I look like a hog in it (it shrunk, I got bigger ), it still gets a lot of "cool shirt" comments.

  19. Yes. It is an album in my mind. So much so that I don't even entertain different track sequence what-ifs.

The emotion in that song just takes you to the bedside where this took place to observe. So powerful. It's audible voyerism.
  21. I'm surprised by the hate for "Shake It Off" by a lot of people. If Wilco plays this live the way I think it should be, it will be a centerpiece for the live show. There's so much potential in that song to just own all in a live setting.
  22. I think that John's contributions on this album are pretty immense. I wonder if the this is the album he has been wanting to create for a long time. I think it is definitely his best effort yet.
