Bummer. I haven't seen them in ages, but the shows I went to were the opposite of boring. Fun idea for a thread too. My worst was Titus Andronicus (Duo) - just awful. I kept waiting another song before giving up, but ended up giving up and going home.

If it is any consolation, I live in Chicago, and I didn't get to but wanted to see that Sloan show.

Yes, easily 3-4 episodes too long. Started out so strong. Cashing in on popularity. The Jinx? Fictional thought, right? Gruesome too?

Not sure when, but Wilco added a second show in Amsterdam at Paradiso - June 15.

Congrats! Hellofayear! I hope your 2nd year post lexmark is just as eventful!

I did make it. Great show from the front section at the Vic and just about a person outside the mosh pit circle. They do a really nice job with the setlist flow. Austin Brown does a lot more dancing in 2018 than when I saw them in the Light Up Gold era. That's a good thing. How A. Savage's voice doesn't give out nightly will never cease to amaze. On at 8:45 off stage at 10:15, 21 songs later.

"Scan Wilco's audience"..."and you'll see"..."the saddest fist-pumps in rock music" Ouch!! I'm offended. -
New Jeff Tweedy album November 30th (called WARM)

I highly recommend listening more than once. While I'm confused by those saying this is a slow builder and they are finally getting it (really, after 2 entire days? Doesn't seem that slow of a builder then), I think it takes 2-3 listens to pick up the vibe, nuance. -
Thank god for this thread. Somehow missed that PC had a show in Chicago. tonight. Now finding a way to make it there...

Wow! He must be bringing the big light show for the tour. It does appear that at most shows there is a golden circle type situation and the tour has really varied pricing. Austin top tier face at 80, Iowa at 45, Nashville and OKC around 65. Dallas at 70. Supply and Demand has hit Tweedy Inc. Makes sense.

Not sure this is confirmation or not, but a tweet from Thursday from the Jeff Tweedy account said "Don't forget to grab your tickets for Jeff's upcoming solo tour" Solo tour...

I'm not really an Uncle Tupelo fan or Jay or Son Volt, but I thought the aspects of the relationship Marc explored were cool. Also, good to know that Jeff and Jay talk, email and that the 'parents aren't likely to get back together' - I don't know, seems like a Coachella performance is in the cards to me.
-
I liked the Jim O'Rourke portion of the pod too. Feel like I learned something about the process there. Likely not what he was going for, but it came across as if Jeff thinks, because of the movie, Jay gets too much credit for YHF...

2,000 people and how many bots? It would be hilarious if they listed the number of bots.

Are we thinking these gigs are solo performances or with band? ...and..The OKC venue is a high school auditorium??
-
The sound has no doubt come a long way, but it is really a long distance from the top/back seats to the band which I find hard to break through and connect with the performance.
-
Rolling Stone reviews were one of my gateways. It's definitely the reason I bought Being There.
-
77 year olds need a long time between gigs to recover! 4-5 days between each gig even in same city.

Jeff Tweedy — 18 November 2018, Music Box Theatre, Chicago, IL

I was about 15 rows back in the center – crystal clear sound during conversation. Acoustics during the music section were fine – not great. The vocals seemed to be only coming out of speakers on the left side of the room, but it didn’t seem to make much of a difference. It was cool to see Jeff’s name on that marquee and also on the sign within the theater (where they usually display the film’s title) – better than had he done it at the Vic for instance. Realized this was the 3rd Wilco related event I’ve had at the venue after seeing I Am Trying to Break Your Heart and Ashes of American Flags -

I thought it was a fun conversation and well worth $30 once you include a signed book. Jason is funny and if you aren't familiar with his humor it may have seemed that he took too much of the time on that. We heard a hilarious and gruesome Wilco bus sickness on the 20 hour drive to Sweden (Switzerland?) story, plans for a spring solo tour, about people in Belleville being dicks, a little more on how the mumble lyrics song writing practice works for Jeff, that he wrote the book mostly from his summer home in MI, that he won't be reading the next book for audio and instead will pass that on -
...just to be clear...and not saying management hasn't changed...but PR is often separate from management...
