It was a really fun show. First show of their tour and I think it took Adam a little time to show personality (mid set). He's a great singer. Queen's catalog is so awesome. It was just fun to watch the songs be performed by the band with a big production. Brian was worth the price alone. I'd never seen him play. They did all the hits and some deep cuts too.

I attended this benefit concert last night. The beneficiary was "A Foundation to be Named Later" which I understand to be Theo Epstein's baby. Theo is the GM of the Chicago Cubs. The bill was headlined by Tom Morello, John Stirrat, Jimmy Chamberlin, Peter Gammons, Scott Lucas and a ton of others. Len Kasper who is the Cubs play-by-play announcer also performed and put most of the music together. There were some strange combinations and in general they stuck to Chicago related songs. The night opened with "The Chicago Allstars" doing a set of songs highlighted by two Urge Overkill songs. The

I was thinking about this too. The only secret show type scenarios I can think of (within the last 14 years) are the Rahm Emanuel benefit where he played 3 songs (all Beyonce covers) and then once makin a guest appearance with the Bottle Rockets for 1 or 2 songs. There was a show at the Hideout in the Leroy-Glenn-John-Jeff era, but I don't know that it was a secret.

I respect your opinion, but I love Yield!!! It is a great listen all the way through album. I also think AGIB is so much better than Elephant!

I caught CRB Saturday night. It was really mediocre. I've seen them before and the previous show was so fun. Saturday's show just dragged and dragged. The pacing and, I hate to say it, the musicianship wasn't there. During Roll Old Jeremiah, it sounded like all 5 musicians were playing a different song. I didn't stay for the encore. Many in the not sold out crowd (30%??) left before I did. Still like the music on the records, but it is going to be hard to get me to another CRB show...

i'm with you on Highway Companion and Echo being great albums. I don't think they have great singles though. Walls was the last great single imo.

new song is not great. Opening riff sounds like old guys trying to sound young. He really hasn't had a good single since She's The One, has he?
 -
Strange, we thought he was going to be here: Jun 4: Nels Cline performs with Go: Organic Guitar Orchestra Shape Shifter Lab Brooklyn, NY maybe he pulled double duty?
