  1. It is annoying. But that Chvrches album is pretty great.
  2. No kidding. It was 15 (above zero) this morning in DFW. And while that's certainly cold, it's nothing compared to what other areas are facing. Of course, my office was shut down for two weeks, and when I walked in this morning, the thermostat said 58. It still hasn't warmed up, so I'll complain just a little.
  3. Texadelphia is great. Although none seemed to match the original one in Austin on Guadalupe by campus. The queso at Fuzzy's Taco Shop is better, though.
  4. It's tough between Midas Touch (the ability to essentially earn money to produce a satisfying lifestyle for my family and me) and Invincibility. But I'll go with Invincibility. After a health scare two years ago and the fact that I absolutely hate being sick or injured, this is the better choice. I wouldn't become a daredevil or thrill-seeker, though. It would just be nice to have this trump card in my back pocket and occasionally use it to do some good (help people in situations where I don't have to worry about my own health or even mortality).
  5. People hear the term "free speech" and then assume its meaning. Plus, others are always perpetuating the myth that free speech means that you have a right to say anything. Hate to say it, but most people in this country are not very bright. Maybe we're expecting too much of a populace to understand the actual meaning of the text of the First Amendment when it can barely name the three branches of government.
  6. Of course they weren't. The general public (and some prominent politicians, apparently) has never understood what the First Amendment really means. This happens every time someone says something stupid or offensive.
  7. During the Ice Storm two weekends ago, some neighbors posted on the neighborhood Facebook page about needing some milk and wanting some burgers. We have a 4-wheel drive, so we picked up food and groceries for everyone and the families walked over and ate at our house.
  8. Brisket is so hard to cook properly. Unless you're in Kansas City, where they cook it until it's grey, slice it razor-thin so you can't taste it, and then smother it in thick sauce.
  9. I don't have any complaints about the season. I love all of it.
  10. I've tried them all and found that Spotify had a better selection/larger catalog than Rdio. But that was a couple of years ago, so I have no idea what the difference would be today. And even though I have nearly unlimited bandwidth, the vast majority of my streaming occurs over wireless internet. EDIT: Also, under the Premium plan, you are able to download music to your device and listen offline.
  11. Right. So, really then, the only people who should be posting in this thread are the ones who truly believe the Grateful Dead is a great band.
  12. Texas is the only state that does barbecue correctly. If it needs sauce, it's wrong. Mums are dumb. I still don't understand why they are necessary. I've never seen Boudin spelled any other way than the correct way. If you want good barbecue, there are many places better than Rudy's.
  13. You can find plenty of great authentic Mexican food places in Texas. However, when it comes down to it, Tex-Mex is king.
  14. I love Costco. A well-run business. Plus, anything that starts in Kirkland/Seattle has to be good. I didn't read your article, just your summary. Where do those figures come from? What is a CEO according to that report? I wouldn't think that a small business owner's compensation would come anywhere near a CEO's.
  15. Why? Is it that hard to believe that a lot of people really like the greatest band of all-time?
  16. You keep repeating this fact as if it has anything to do with the topic of this thread.
  17. Good for Jeff, although the Low album is one of their weakest.
