The first in the current crop of 3 new episodes of Sherlock. The high standard is maintained. Dr Zhivago on TV again yesterday - was drawn into it since there seemed to be alot I had not seen before, perhaps it was some sort of directors cut. That and Julie Christie of course.

Sad news. Great harmony is a magical element not used enough, I suppose precisely because its a gift hard to achieve.

Now listening - The I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue 2003 Christmas special. Now and again it is good that BBC Radio 4Extra has so many repeats. Just brilliant stuff. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00g27cl

Walt Whitman's Chicken There used to be several threads like this, though with more liberal rules. Who remembers the Russian/soviet thread? I think the best I came up with was "Someday Some Morning Smolensk" and "When You Wake Up Feeling Olga", but someone came up with the marvellous "What's the GUM Got in Store"

I say it periodically, but JT really needs to do a job on Emmylou. -

That must be one happy guitar tech at the moment ... Australia are trouncing the Pommies. Not a massive cricket fan, but I am a fan of the great BBC commentary team ... especially the late great Brian Johnston http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsVTpX7LdZQ Back on track - thanks for some great reporting. -

The trailer we got afterwards was for the next lot of Sherlock Holmes. My recent favourite Brit TV series: Peaky Blinders, Fresh Meat, Toast of London -

That was enjoyable. Got worried at the start with the Tardis on a helicopter segment, but it turned into a memorable episode worthy of the anniversary. And: TOM BAKER! -

Watched Gatiss's An Adventure In Time And Space - behind the scenes of the early days featuring female producer Verity Lambert and William Hartnell. Really well made with period atmosphere and some nice touches. -
