Another film that I just thought of is the underseen gem This Is My Father with a heap of Irish talent: Aidan Quinn, Brendan Gleeson, Colm Meaney, Stephen Rea, John Cusack and James Caan (obviously not Irish). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xk9sVSXqzTY It is set in modern day America where an older man (Caan) wants to find out about his father (Aidan Quinn) in Ireland in 1939. The film was directed by Paul Quinn (Aidan's bro). Books: The Third Policeman by Flann O'Brien (nee Brian O'Nolan) -
U2 They Fell From The Sky fanmade collection of new songs from 360 Tour Now this is what should have been put out by U2.com. Anyways, there are 6 great live recordings of the following "new" songs: The Return Of The Stingray Guitar, Every Breaking Wave, North Star, Glastonbury, Mercy, and A Boy Falls From The Sky (from Spider-Man).

Wow!? Whatever happened to these guys? I remember seeing them back in 2002 at our local indie record store doing an acoustic set before opening up for Coldplay. I guess they never really broke into America like they deserved to. Films: I think that they ended up doing about 5 or 6 of these films. Towards the end of the series he went to space and to Compton. -

And I think it would help to know what type of guy he is. Is he a technical whiz kid? If he is, then I'd probably rather have him go more into volunteering at the local public access channels to start. He can learn how to use a camera, work with mics, direct a show, fiddle around with studio lighting, edit, and maybe get some ideas to produce his own shows. Heck, they even let you rent out the equipment for free. Actually, some of this hands on experience helps some people get their start at the broadcast news level. A lot of the Production Assistants on big film productions don't really d

Hey Crow Daddy, I'll try to list off as many possible ways to help. OK. 1st off it would probably help if he did some volunteering at the local public access channels to gain some hands on experience. Obviously, you don't get paid and it is extremely helpful to network. They may even offer free classes to train him. Secondly, I'd recommend going to film school (much like I did) to network. Not only do you get to go to classes with your peers, but you also select an internship site. Any big production that you can think of usually needs a good amount of production interns. I know th

Crosley Any of these are probably much cheaper at a retail store that carries them. I know that I've seen them relatively cheap at Target. My father has one and it works great. Hope this helps (and this message doesn't get deleted like 2 of my other messages in another silly stupid thread).

According to NetFlix it is streaming, as of today.

Even Better Than The Real Thing just opened up U2's 360 Tour in Argentina. Not only is it the 1st time that it has been played on this tour, but it's also been 10 years. I was actually at that last show in Boston on June 9th. Edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X032Su4URhQ Sounds pretty good. It helps that it's from the news broadcast.

The Late Greats at Outback Steakhouse in Tyngsboro, MA last night as soon as we sat down. In fact, my friend who is a waiter there went to 3 Wilco shows with myself and my best friend and we were all sitting at the table. Also, 2 years ago to the day waiter friend and I were at Tweedy in Northampton, MA. We talked about not being at the Portland show, then we cried into our Aussie cheese fries.

Congratulations to northern comfort on his amazing story. I knew that Jeff had to pop in, although I was shocked to see the picture. Extremely funny.

Thanks Paul for all that you do. Nice meeting you over the years. I also was at a show where Jeff mentioned you. I think it was the 1st Pines Theater show in 2006. The best of all time was seeing you in the audience on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last year or whenever. You are like VC's Zelig. Will we ever meet Rock Steady? If anyone got that, then you probably grew up in the 80s.

Amazing show! I own the whole collection (4 seasons). It's rather reasonably priced on the internet. Also, majority of their sketches are easily found on youtube including Bob Odenkirk in the amazing Swear To God sketch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRx7fU2Y0UA NSFW

I think I'll take the occasional spring snow showers (which won't last on the ground long anyways) over radiation any day of the week. That's just me. And fyi I just walked my dog and was pelted by that astronaut ice cream looking snow.

I love that they were like "well, Leprechaun 4 was in space which is fucking scary, so how do we top that? COMPTON!!!" Really LOL over here....and to make matters more awesome that's Ice-T as Mack Daddy.

There's a pic of Jeff on George Stroumboulopoulos' show on Wilco's Facebook page. Sorry, I couldn't capture the pic properly to put it here.

Paul - I really LOVED this film. To me this is their best film simply because it has a heart which is so reminiscent of the late 70s/80s films that it constantly tips its hat. So many films nowadays are too pessimistic, even the family films. I really loved how the references were so subtle (depending on how many times you've seen such & such) that it wasn't like they were constantly winking at the audience. It felt really natural. Although, there were a few lines that really stood out because they have been a part of pop culture and even these felt right in the right moment in the story.

LOL Well, my mind was clearly on that Random Topic Thread of old where I began a "name a hoagie after a Led Zeppelin song." The restaurant was to be called Houses Of The Hoagies.

No. I don't think even U2 remembers that one. I have 0 idea why they chose that song to use as a dish title? Edit: With Or Without Chew....Where The Beets Have No Name....
