I just moved back to Southern California after 12 years away and am just getting back into it. It's more of a workout than it seemed when I was a kid. I've been running in the mornings and going to the gym so I can build up some endurance to surf. I live 5 minutes from a great spot but it's a little rough for me right now. Newport is a perfect spot because there is not much paddling required. Anyway, I love to surf and look to be doing a lot more in the future.

Resurrection Fern is my favorite so far.

The pig lost it. I don't know why. It sounds great to my ears. I think Sam does a great job picking up where he left off with Woman King. This record has a lot of life with some nice delicate moments. I love I & W and this caught me by surprise. What a great way to start off Fathers Day.

The stone temple pilots, They're elegant bachelors They're foxy to me are they foxy to you? I will agree there isn't absolutely nothing Nothing more than me

I really like Cold War Kids. Their live shows and their record are quality. I spoke with the singer after one of their shows out here in California last year and he was a very kind man. To me they are good people making really good music and that's all that matters.

Some friends of mine took me out to see them a couple years ago at Cains Ballroom in Tulsa and it bored me. I appreciate good jams but this particular night the jams weren't very good. I've tried to sit down and listen to them too and it just doesn't work. I'd be willing to give them another chance but I would probably just be there to have a night out with good pals.

I saw them perform at SXSW and can't wait to see them again. I was not a believer prior to then. -

That record had never really appealed to me that much. I like it, just not as much as most of the others. I really look forward to the new one though.

I've always hated Alec Baldwin. What a creep. -
I'd let him crash on my couch anytime.

Very nice. So when does this new album come out and what is it called?

New Golden Smog - Blood on the Slacks on Myspace
El Picador replied to pathfire's topic in Someone Else's Song
The whole record (8 songs?) is up on the pink as of today. I am enjoying this much more than Another Fine Day. No Tweedy on this one, although I am more a fan of Lourdis' Golden Smog tunes than Jeff's. 'Without a Struggle' is the highlight for me thus far.
