rac1234
Buffalo Tom are excellent. I still pull out Let Me Come Over all the time, and the self titled album, too, though less so. Interesting coincidence seeing Buffalo Tom making a new record at the same time as Dino Jr's, given that J mixed their debut (as well as contributing a little guitar). I never did hear Birdbrain or the other stuff - anyone know if its any good? And yeah, intodeep, Mastodon are awesome. I heard the new Buffalo Tom pre-release, and it's ok. Not bad, just not really necessary.

thejokeexplained
Neutral Milk Hotel. If your favorite Wilco is YHF, do your self a favor and pick up their release "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea" They are no longer a active band yet they are on M.Ward's and Arcade Fires Merge roster. poonkorama
The usual lesser-known California bands I plug around here: The Mother Hips (just brought out a new album recently that's excellent)The Court & Spark (and their current side project Hiss Golden Messenger)Billy Midnight (their self-titled first album is awesome, alas, out of print...PM me if you want to take a listen) The former two bands have opened for Wilco at some point in their respective careers.
