MrRain422
I like brussel sprouts' first album, but everything after that was crap.
Dude
The problem with Radiohead and Wilco fans is they dominate the net in terms of fanbase. This tends to create a sheep-like lack of objectivity. These aren't good records. Very, very few people will care about SBS or IN Rainbows a couple years from now. There isn't a single memorable song on either record - and great bands make memorable songs. All I Need is not only memorable, it's as good as anything on OKC or The Bends. Every song on here has solid melodies and interesting chord changes. The more you listen to In Rainbows, the more rewarding the experience is. It's not something a Floyd / Jayhawks fan is going to get on the first listen or the fifteenth.
bjorn_skurj
Mannn, I had some awesome brussels sprouts the other night at the tapas place up the street. Wooo-eeeeee!
jakobnicholas
Perhaps "Pablo Honey" is the Radiohead disc we can ALL agree is great. Personally, I love almost everything they've put out. But "Pablo Honey" is what first got me into Radiohead, and I still think it has some phenomenal tunes....Stop Whispering, Thinking About You, Vegetable, I Can't, Lurgee, to name a few. This album is crazy under-rated. Oh yeah. No dissin' of the Lips. That band is almost untouchable imho.
Analogman
For me, I like the first half of OK Computer the best and then a few songs off of the other albums.

Dude
Yes, that Sinead O'conner intro to "All I need" is amazing. And how it's the same exact thing, boring and plodding aong until the tacked on ending. Great bands make great, memorable songs. In Rainbows has none. The fact that you think Tomorrow the Green Grass is a top 10 album of all time or whatever is why you're in your own universe and no one on any message board takes you seriously. tongue-tied
In all due respect sir, Mystics was a flaming pile of garbage. You Haven't Got A Clue

lost highway
You Haven't Got A Clue I'm glad somebody likes it. I guess I am always glued to Clouds Taste Metallic and Soft Bulletin. Yoshimi seemed fun but gets old quick and Mystics seemed like they were at the end of their rope. Honestly you're the first person I've encountered who enjoyed it........at least someone does. mgsooner
I don't understand the hatred for SBS. Didn't Tweedy say he just wanted to write some simple, straightforward songs? What is wrong with that? Why does everything have to be "experimental" and "groundbreaking" to be good? Who gives a shit??? Just give me an album of rockin' tunes. That's what is wrong with music today. Trying to reinvent the fucking wheel with every god damned album. Give me somebody like the aforementioned Truckers who just go into the studio, rock out, and finish an album in two weeks. Not somebody who sits at a computer mixing for nine months before they can release their album. Now let me say that I don't dislike Radiohead. Quite the contrary. They are probably in my top 10 to top 15 bands. It's just I wouldn't classify their music as having much of a "soul".
benjamin
Perhaps "Pablo Honey" is the Radiohead disc we can ALL agree is great. Nope. Not so much. The Bends? Yes. OK Computer? Yes. Kid A? Arguably Yes.

The WAND >>Pompeii>>Goin On is a very solid album closer. Everything before that is a little iffy.

tongue-tied
Transmissions to Yoshimi are are all amazing albums in my opinion, i can't really put a rank on them. I am listening to In Rainbows right now. Enjoying the first few songs like last time, lets see if it loses my interest again.
tongue-tied
the beginning synths and beat to "All I Need" is totally Moby.
tongue-tied
My dog starts barking incessantly whenever Reckoner comes on, no matter what volume I play it at. She's never done this in response to any other music. Unfortunately, it's my favourite song on the record, so it's going from cute to annoying fast. Yeah, I have a good ear for high frequencies and whenever theres drumming there's high pitched metallic clinking or squeeking or something, its pretty distracting. mgsooner
I like simple straightforward songs, I just think the ones on SBS aren't very good. Fair enough. That's better than saying SBS is a turd they shat out of their ass.
lost highway
There's nothing to "get". It's glossy muzak, with no rock n roll to speak of. When has Radiohead been all about rock and roll? Thats like saying Wilco isn't enough of an alt-country band. You know what album totally doesn't rock A Love Supreme, there's no fucking rockin guitar....yuck. Same thing with Muleskinner Blues, and Black Star. What the fuck is going on with music these days, nothing sounds like Abbey Road and I can't figure out why.
