I just saw online that the band my little brother used to be in, The London Souls, that got their start in my parent's basement, are opening for two shows on The Black Crowes latest tour (Long Island and New Hampshire). That was odd to see when looking for tickets. Good luck to them.

That show has been posted a few times.

According to the db.etree.org link for the Wilco show that day, some of the Black Crowes did play with Wilco.

I've never seen the Wilco show from that date - but it must be out there somewhere.

I finally got the Cabin Fever DVD the other day.

Crowes and Wilco also performed 'Casino Queen' together.

It is a great performance and can be found on a Crowes circulation called Archers' B-Sides

In terms of the Crowes, I can't believe it isn't stated here more often, but for me at least they were hugely instrumental in my identifying legit rock and roll vs. 90% of crap out there. I would have been a sophomore in highschool when Southern Harmony came out. I was huge into the alt music, but that record in particular opened my mind to stuff like Uncle Tupelo and more traditional roots and rock music. It is kind of crazy to look at the records they were putting out in context of the times and it never felt gimmicky or insincere. In my mind, take away Lions (that may not even be fair) and their whole lot stands up. I don't know the Crowes have suffered some disservice along the way (some their own doing) but some people limit them to Shake Your Money Maker and others throw them in with jam band pot smoking scene. I don't think it ever completely fit. They are just a great Rock Band.

Good points. Yeah, I remember for awhile there it seemed like they were the only band really playing that kind of straight ahead rock and roll. It does hold up.

that is exactly why they're my favorite band every. i can listen to their old shit & it sounds just as good today as it did when it came out.

The Big Three (Southern Harmony, Amorica, and Three Snakes) cannot be topped.

I absolutely love their latest album BTF / UTF, and I am quite disappointed that they are taking a break.

Yeah, after Warpaint (which I think has a few really good songs and the rest being mediocre) I was totally blown away.

I'm a Three Snakes Guy. Just great Rock N' Roll front to back. The Band album (lost crowes) is my #2. Excited to see them at the Chicago Theater.

Three Snakes is my favorite album of all time.

The last tour was a just a good ol rock and roll show. Led with bluesy bluesy piano and nice jams.

i really like warpaint too. only album i don't like by them is lions. even then, i like a few of those songs live. miracle to me is great.

Interesting...

I only like 3 or 4 songs off of Warpaint (Whoa Mule, Gold in Them Hills, Josephine, and Evergreen) and for the most part skip the rest.

Lions even more so, and Miracle To Me, to me, is a skipper.

Lions comes off way better to me live. Midnight is great, Young Man is great, well umm two songs off of Lions come off great live.

Of course to each their own.

Thats exactly how I felt. Shocked. Such a great album. I love the DVD too. A really nice feel to the whole proceedings. I hope this imminent package is very much in the same vibe.

Southern Harmony is still their greatest achivement in my book.

I'd rather go with the Trailer Park Boys reference.

Chris sure comes across as a waster in the Cabin Fever dvd.

Also, I don't think the audio on the soundtrack, is really the sound the band making as we see the video. Am I wrong about that?

I agree with all the above. Finally gotten around and watched this. The audio right up to the start of the songs seemed to change just as the song starts. And Chris definitely comes across as a waster. It would be interesting to ask Larry Campbell who was stranger to work with: Dylan or Robinson. That being all said, I enjoyed the DVD. Campbell really adds alot to the music. Also Rich's lead vocal song were a highlight.

I did buy a ticket to their Chicago show, actually lucked out and got a great ticket. Looking forward it.

I'd like to see one of those shows. There is a page for the upcoming album on Amazon, but no track list yet.
