Sir Stewart
this is good as well: http://www.amazon.com/Bob-Dylan-Behind-Shades-Revisited/dp/006052569X some laughs in that one! Oh man Heylin is such a dick in that book. Informative though, if you can get past all his self-conscious putdowns of everything Dylan did.

imsjry
Taylor from Dawes recounts his time on the road with Bob. I thought this was really nice! http://www.esquire.com/blogs/culture/dawes-road-with-dylan
LouieB
Nice to see the old timers promoting this thing (Kooper and Bromberg). This does look like a good one. New Morning has always been one of my faves as well. It came out just before I went to Europe. I listened to it with a friend in a house trailer I lived in back in rural Ohio. Analogman
Day of The Locust and Went To See The Gypsy I rather like those two songs.
LouieB
Day of The Locust and Went To See The Gypsy I rather like those two songs.Me too. Sign on the Window as well. LouieB
Analogman
It's shame he doesn't do some of those songs - instead of some of the songs he plays hundreds of times.
calvino
New Morning is a good one - one the last ones I purchased from him, I did not get it until it was remastered a few years ago. The Man in Me is a good one, too. He did perform "If Dogs Run Free" for a bit in the early 2000
Analogman
I'll tell you a Dylan song I really like - Santa Fe. It's a nothing song, but the groove is great.
tongue-tied lightning
i love Santa Fe too. I also love Day of the Locusts from New Morning. Wonder if he's ever sang it live ?
LouieB
I like Santa Fe too (Desire period) but it is really not a finished song at all. LouieB
Analogman
I thought that was a Basement Tape song?
calvino
I thought that was a Basement Tape song? Yep - you're right - good tune - Golden Loom is one from the Desire period that's a good one, too - Love playing that one on guitar, mostly because it's easy.
Analogman
When I was looking the song up on Youtube, I found some terrible cover versions.
LouieB
Yup, Basement Tapes it is. LouieB
calvino
When I was looking the song up on Youtube, I found some terrible cover versions. Imagine that "a terrible of a Dylan cover" ---- lot's and lot's of good ones, but plenty of duds too.
froggie
i love Santa Fe too. I also love Day of the Locusts from New Morning. Wonder if he's ever sang it live ?it always brings a smile to my face!. never done live
tongue-tied lightning
ya think i'll hear it this Sunday ?
Analogman
You should make a sign with glue and glitter spelling out SANTA FE with some smiley faces and red hearts on the sides. And then - run toward the stage with it, and yell SANTA FE! SANTA FE! SANTA FE!
tongue-tied lightning
Bob would have me thrown out for sure. He's a grumpy old man.
calvino
I wonder if Dylan would even know what the sign meant, especially if he is playing on the East coast ---- probably would think the person needed a bus ride to the West....
Sir Stewart
Bob would have me thrown out for sure. He's a grumpy old man. Don't be too sure of that.
calvino
For some reason, I can't believe Dylan would remember every tune he wrote --- could be wrong. I wonder if every time he sees or thinks of Sante Fe, he thinks "hey I wrote a tune call Sante Fe" and starts to whistle the melody.
Sir Stewart
Man was I lucky to be at this show. Just found this today -
