The Tigers are killing me, that 10th inning where Rayburn starts it off by botching a routine fly ball into the tying run on third with no outs and then capping the inning by gunning the dude down at home was too much. C'mon boys, win it for Ernie in the 12th.

I knew the Twins have been to the playoffs a few times the last few years, but I didn't realize they have half of the Central Division titles this decade. Very impressive, but I guess it's easy to not realize their accomplishments because they haven't been to WS with all those titles. Kind of a shame, really. The Twins do things right.

I'm disappointed I didn't get to see/listen to tonight's game. It sounded exciting, and I bet it was loud as all Hell, too!

I watched innings 7-9 at a bar and followed the rest at home via ESPN's web thing (no TBS at home).

The two innings I watched were incredible. Just what I hoped for: everyone bringing their A game. Wish I could've seen the whole thing.

Tigers' ninth: Santiago's bunt/dive into first, barely safe, then the strikeout and followup double play that ended the inning and Nathan pumping his fist - probably the most exciting half-inning I saw all year.

A Boston reporter wrapped it up well: "now the Twins are heading to New York to face the Yankees...good luck with that."

A friend of mine was at the game and left a VM for me - it must have been after Orlando Cabrera's homerun put the Twins up 4-3. The voicemail sounded like he was yelling over a jet engine.

Great game, and good luck to the Twins. Tigers choked it all away, and the Twins played so well down the stretch.

One advantage the Angels will have on the Red Sox will be that they run alot and the Red Sox catchers cannot throw Rusty Staub out. If they get on, they will steal at will. The Rockies' catcher, Torrealba, is just as bad. He only threw out 14 baserunners all season. Today he tried to throw a runner out at third with a left-handed hitter up, and, despite having a quick release and nobody blocking his throwing angle, almost threw the ball into the left field corner. Defense usually becomes a significant factor in the post-season.

This is kind of fucking up my Yankees-beat-Cards-in-5 prediction.

The Rod is looking less flaccid so far this postseason.

Twins-Yanks reminds me of this quote from Raiders:

Belloq:Dr. Jones. Again we see there is nothing you can possess which I cannot take away.
