Ghost of Electricity
Today my little heart tells me: 1. BT2.YHF3. AM4. AGIB5. ST6. SBS7. W(TA) Tomorrow I might listen to my head instead and get a completely different result. Sorry, lost highway, I know mathematicians, I work with mathematicians, mathematicians are friends of mine. I'm no mathematician.

Ghost of Electricity
out of curiosity would that be expressed " 7! " ? that sentence was hard to punctuate.

Sir Stewart
Here's a ranking I don't think you've seen yet. 1. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot2. Summerteeth3. Being There4. A Ghost Is Born5. A.M.6. Wilco (The Album)7. Sky Blue Sky Radical.
lamradio
I've only heard W(TA) twice and don't even own it You're not missing much. SBS is excellent. There's just a certain mood and cohesive feeling to it. The weather is still too hot for or me to listen to it though.. SBS is a winter album for me (yeah, I have certain albums for certain seasons) WTA is just.. As my six year old what put it, "too easy"...
Queen Amaranthine
Quote feature isn't working, so this is an old school copy-paste:"Surprised to see Sky Blue Sky getting so much more love than Wilco (The Album). Not that I don't agree, but the tides seem to be changing on SBS—deservedly." It took me a LONG time to warm up to SBS, and when I did, I was hooked as much as I've been to the previous albums. In fact, it wasn't until this spring that I got SBS out again. When it first came out I was just ready for a break from Wilco. Nothing in SBS spoke to me or sounded right at the time. I remember halfway listening to You Are My Face and thinking, I'm not sure I really want to hear about someone's brother's sister-in-law's sister's brother's husband working in the coal mines...too Uncle Tupelo for me at this point! Like the Impossible Germany lyric says, "I know you're not listening." And I wasn't. Anyway, whatever possesses me to do these things led to digging out SBS and the timing is right. I'm not sure why but am sure glad it is, and it's great to be back on the Wilco wagon. I have to admit to hearing W(TA) only twice, but maybe I'll wait for The Whole Love first then go back to W(TA). I got things out of order there! I had posted what I'd posted above, then tried to edit and ended up wiping it out, but not before iamrod replied. Sorry for any confusion! The High Heat
1. YHF2. BT3. AGIB4. ST5. AM6. SBS7. W(TA) I consider AM and SBS to be a tie really. AM needed just a little more work, but it doesn't have Leave Me Like You Found Me, which I loathe enough to not want to play the album in its entirety. Even though You Are My Face trumps anything on AM, I'm more likely to listen to AM. I'm projecting (hoping) that TWL will be the new #5.
choo-choo-charlie
Today:AGIBBTYHFSTAMSBSW(TA)Next week the order will likely shuffle again, and again the following week. Just like I've been on a Rubber Soul & Abbey Road kick with The Beatles, but the ranking of favorites usually changes month-to-month. I also like SBS on winter mornings. I Might
Not much love for Wilco (The Album). I agree it seems a bit uneven, a collection of songs rather than a thematically unified album, but the first half of it has some great songs.

rhino4evr
this seems kinda premature, because we know another one will pop up as soon as the new album is released...but ill play along.YankeeGhostSky - just barely over Being There.Being ThereMermaid Ave 1 & 2 (does this count?)SummerteehWilco The AlbumAM - Im sorry, this album is probably better then Wilco(TA), but I rarely feel the urge to listen to it. It's like Pablo Honey from Radiohead.
choo-choo-charlie
I feel a stronger urge to hear A.M. far more than that for W(TA). In fact, as much as I enjoy most of W(TA), I don't actually feel a strong urge to hear it -- only when the tunes appear in a shuffle. I think A.M. is great, and like Magnus said, it just suffers, to me, from the first album syndrome. Answer this: I Thought I Held You? Or Leave Me Like You Found Me? Ghost of Electricity
my sons, ages 9 and 4, are nuts about Casino Queen and Box full of letters. for about a month those were the only two songs allowed. so i burned out on them, and now my urge to hear AM is next to nil. they never ask to hear anything from W(TA). In related news, one of them took out a Beethoven disc i was listening to in order to put in the Velvet Underground. I love parenthood.

Sweet Papa Crimbo
I'll own up to this. Even though the rest of the Wilco canon exceeds AM, I'll tell you what. I prefer AM to Trace. Period.
