  1. If you can track down a link, that would be great. Bill's drumming on that 72 Ohio Playin that Shug posted - is great - right in the forefront.
  2. I really like the new CRB tune - it's different, but I usually always like different. Rich's record cover looks pretty cool - the harmonies and guitar work are nice on his tune - but there is nothing new - good though.
  3. Bad ska shows at bars were always fun in the early 90's while at school at SIU (Carbondale, IL).
  4. See post above you - it's Jonathan Parker. He uses to sing lead a bit too - Immigration Song, etc.
  5. Just read that Bob Weir & Ratdog with Dwight Yoakam with play at Ravinia Park in Highland Park (high class north-shore suburb of Chicago) - the neighborhood is not going to know what hit him. I do like the pairing. I have gone to shows (Lyle Lovett (twice) and the Indigo Girls) there and it is quite nice ---- allow to bring in food/picnic and booze, which is nice.
  6. Thanks for the write-up roadhse ma. Hoping for an interesting guest here in Chicago - looks like they have been pulling some great guests and the guests have been well received and played well, which is not always the case at some shows that I have seen in the past. I always enjoyed Tony "Thunder" Smith's drumming.
  7. I am catching them next month in Chicago. If you don't mind, I wouldn't mind to read your thoughts on the show. I heard one show from this tour - sounded nice.
  8. Day Job opened up the 2nd set at The Richmond 83 show - I don't think I ever saw that song in that slot before, but I don't listen to 83 or 84 very often, so perhaps they did. Brent keyboard is really up in the mix of Feel like a Stranger on the Silberman/Miller tape.
  9. SS is correct - every second of World Gone Wrong is great ---- I always thought Good as I Been to You was a bit stale. I was in still in high school when Oh Mercy was released and upon listening it hooked me into Dylan. Before that I think I only had the Greatest Hits Vol. 1 tape.
  10. Yeah - went to the site when I got home last night and saw that -- oh well. Digitally is definitely cheaper, though - and no shipping charges. Have to admit, I play most of music through my hard drive/home stereo system - so having it just digitally is fine by me.
  11. I suck at library races. Now reading the below -- depressing but interesting.
  12. I would hope so, but don't know. All the downloads I got from HD Tracks have liner notes in a PDF format. Only 100 left of the Spring 77 set ---- anybody who purchased this have any thoughts. This would be the first box set that I passed up purchasing, other than the Formerly the Warlocks set.
  13. I am not fan of going to stadium shows any more and the newer U2 tunes don't hold my interest any more. 10 - 15 years ago I would have put up with a stadium/arena show. Same thing with Stones, I guess, though their prices makes it an easy decision.
  14. That was my only Dark Star, too. (I don't count the little tease they did at Soldier Field in 91.)
  15. U2 is one of the few bands that I regret not seeing live, but now I don't have any desire to catch one of their shows. Still watch their Elevation Boston and Mexico City PopMart DVDs from time to time.
  16. Thanks for posting - that voodoonola YouTube site is a great resource - the amount of video is pretty incredible.
  17. Flaked out on getting tickets for his next week Chicago show and it's sold out. Will be in the St. Louis area this weekend, so, if all goes well, I will catch him there this Saturday.
  18. I do not listen to Phil Lesh and Friends' shows very often. Listening to the 2/12/2005 show today - fun show. https://archive.org/details/2005-02-12.paf.nak300.robr.28166.flacf
  19. Grand Prix is my favorite, too. Bought Bandwagonesque when it was released - didn't like it (then) and never paid any attention to them until they released Man-Made, which I picked up because it was produced by John McEntire - bought the rest of their catalog shortly afterwards. I enjoy Bandwagonesque now - but it is still probably my least favorite of theirs. Did see them live a few years back at Lincoln Hall in Chicago - great, fun show.
  20. I just picked this up Sunday from the library, myself -- the Olympics have been delaying my viewing. Need to watch the 60 Minute segment.
  21. Best wishes and thoughts to Sue and the Tweedy clan.
