Thanks for the reminder - completely forgot. Got 10th row center. Should be a nice over night trip - never been up in that area before. Fitting WXRT just started to play You and I as am typing this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vuoo6Y16x0s&feature=player_embedded#at=142 Here is a clip of Jagger and Richards talking about Atlantic Records and Muscle Shoals. It has some of the footage that LouieB and I were talking about. Jagger's impersonation of Ahmet Ertegun is pretty funny. My older sister was/is a huge Bob Seger fan, I remember that Night Moves, Stranger in Town, and The Distance were played a shit load around the house when I was kid. I never realized that he recorded at Muscle Shoals before I went through the link that LouieB provide.

Yep, definitely.
-
I don't know what they did, I guess I need to check some of my Stones' books.
-
When I think of Muscle Shoals, I think of The Stones' songs Brown Sugar and Wild Horses. There is some great footage in the Gimme Shelter dvd of Muscle Shoals.

In the Dylan/Hunter Houston tune, there is the below line: The Mexican War was between 1846-48. Benson was county sheriff of Harris County, Texas, from Dec. 1918 to Jan. 1, 1937. This would make the Candyman character in his 80s, if he was at least 10 years old during the war, which is possible, I guess.

The Truckin' Up to Buffalo is a great DVD/show, but some reason I'm not a big fan Crimson, White & Indigo: Philadelphia, July 7, 1989 release. The last 89 Alpine show was my first show, so I am bit partial to the Downhill from Here DVD, though only West LA, Desolation, and Deal are the only songs on it from the last night of the run. I do think those are the best songs on the DVD; I always wonder why they didn't show more of the last night on the DVD, since I thought it was the best of the three, but again that maybe because I was at the show.

I like Ozzie, too. His "act" does get old at times, but I think he is great manager. I don't think he will be fired during this year. The team has to turn it around at some point, right?????

I think this link is at the front of this thread but here is Grateful Dead releases by recording date from Deaddisc.com Quite a bit of 87, 89, and 90 shows/songs were officially released. Hardly any from 88.

I hear ya - terrible year thus far.

Ugh! for the White Sox.

In the cd packaging there is a great photo of Earle with John Henry sitting over the recording console. The kid is fiddling with the sliders and buttons. The DVD that came with the deluxe edition, though short, is pretty decent. Burnett is always shown while sitting on an overstuffed leather couch...he looks pretty funny - he doesn't have the best sitting posture .
-
The new Earle and the latest Mellencamp record are the only Burnett produced records I bought recently, so I guess I am not burned out, yet. Looking at Burnett's website, the only other one I have that he produced is the Counting Crowes' August record, which I bought when it came out - haven't listened to that one in ages.

Happy birthday and that's a great picture, Lamrod.

I like the new album, definitely no "rockers", but that's okay. I am glad he is passing through Chicago this summer and touring with the Dukes.
-
The 4/71 Fillmore shows are some of my favorites, too.

Yeah LouieB, where's the setlist??? . I forgot about this show, when it was first announced, I thought about going than forgot all about it. Also on a side note, regarding Bun E Carlos, didn't he do a quick drum solo during a Wilco Riviera show in the late 90's? I seem to remember he did.

I just didn't laugh much during the Office, perhaps the point was it was supposed be "bitter-sweet" - I don't like "bitter-sweet" stuff, especially when it comes to a comedy sitcom. The Toby/Micheal and Kevin/Micheal moments was funny.
-
Yeah it was and the Community episode was better than tonight's Office.

All those would be cool, I wonder if a copy of Sunshine Daydream was ever played on the big screen? You will also have to play some early to mid 80s Maiden and Priest concert films, you know to get the metal heads to the theaters.
