Well, my disc drive has been broken for a while. I don't really miss it (but am getting it fixed soon). If you ever do miss it and have an external hard drive or maybe even a flash drive, you can burn or rip with another computer and always transfer with the external drive.

I'm in the same boat as you. Before I got my current job, they had me write up a piece on the holes in my resume. My resume looks like garbage, but I'm a good worker. I had to explain here's when I dropped off the legitimate working world to be a professional musician for a couple years. Also, I took a lot of semesters off from college, and I've also moved around a lot. I'm lucky they let me explain everything. I didn't hear back from a lot of places, and I'm sure it's because my resume is so ugly. Another thing, apparently video resumes are becoming more popular. Anyone have any experience

I work in employment advertising in the Tampa Bay, FL area. This area has been hit pretty hard, some local areas experiencing an unemployment rate over 10%. Recently, I have seen demand is increasing slowly. But here (may be like this everywhere) besides holiday specific stuff, people basically stop hiring, waiting until after the holidays.

On O's new site http://change.gov, it says they will immediately provide a $1,000 energy rebate per family and create a Making Work Pay tax credit, up to $500/person or $1,000/family for 150 million Americans. This Making Work Pay credit would eliminate income tax for 10 million people. Also wants to eliminate income tax for seniors making less than $50,000/yr. I don't know if these are new details or not, but it seems good that they've been posted within this past week. You can also submit your ideas if you don't like these.
