  1. I'm kind of leaning towards this. It just sounds easy. I'll check back here before we leave though.
  2. I have no idea wtf is going on here.
  3. So do I. I played the shit out of that record back when.
  4. If anyone has an idea for a pre-show meet up that would be nice.
  5. Wow, I wasn't yet 11 years old. Thanks for the reminder. A spin of the Gilded Palace of Sin will go down nice right now.
  6. Made with only the finest columbian beans. D'oh! On today's playlist: Fillmore East 9/19/70. I will unabashedly claim this to be my favorite Dark Star of 1970 (yes, I like it more than 2/13).
  7. All the best of vibeages to you, my friend. May be the eternal spirit of Woody Creek be with you always.
  8. Wow. Very cool story man. I feel fortunate to have seen nearly all of my RxR heroes, but I've never seen Lou. He's #1 on my list.
  9. Isadorah, I for one think Eleanor Holmes Norton is a wonderful lady, and a great Represenative. Fantastic speaker. What an unbelievable shame that her voice falls on deaf ears.
  10. MONSTER Once the religious, the hunted and weary Chasing a promise of freedom and hope Came to this country to build a new vision Far from the reaches of Kingdom and Pope Like good Christians some would burn the witches Later some got slaves to gather riches But still from near and far to seek America They came by thousands, to court the wild But she just patiently smiled and bore a child To be their spirit and guiding light And once the ties with the Crown had been broken Westward in saddle in wagon it went Until the railroad linked ocean to ocean Many the lives which had come to an e
  11. Damn man now that's some cool shit!
  12. From the msyvon archives: Mrs. MB, MB, O-man, O-girl, Mrs. j4, j4
  13. I was hoping you would deliver a sweet blog on this topic. I know you have it in you! In a related aside: to hell with Woodstock...the July '73 Watkins Glen show (The Band, the Dead, the Allmans) might be the concert I most wish I could have been at. Can you imagine?
  14. I used to love it when the Nelson Band would cover It Makes No Difference. What a wonderful song. Maybe my favorite Danko vocal song.
  15. Absolutely Free might just be my very favorite in the entire FZ catalogue. And that's saying alot.
  16. Oh hell yes! The version of Donovan's "Season of the Witch" is a keeper (along w/ "Holy Modal Majesty"). Also- The Live Adventures of Bloomfield & Kooper.
  17. Wilco doesn't want to be the GD or Phish, and we don't want that either. All 3 of those bands are quite unique. The thing to keep in mind also is that with TGD or Phish, those bands had (relatively) the same core members for 20-30 years. They knew each other better than most families. It was much easier to just walk out there with no idea of what was going to happen, and it (usually) came off pretty damn coherent. Wilco has had this lineup for what, 3 years? Now if they stay intact for a long long time this will be more possible to mix it up alot more. Time will tell...
  18. Well not everyone. Actually, there's plenty of folks here that did not like SBS when it came out. There were many who did not like AGIB when it came out. Those were the records though. Most seem to like the live shows. It's better than some other band's message boards though... you know, like when anyone says anything remotely nice about the band in question they immediately get flamed out with "n00b", "kys", etc..
  19. Still one of my very favorites, even though the heavy dope-smoking days are long gone.
  20. Gil-Scott Heron--Midnight Band, or Winter in America.
