This is exactly the point. The have a huge following, but they're not mainstream like RS, U2, the Who, etc. This is the Super Bowl we're talking about.

Foo Fighters might make it, but I'm thinking they are probably just a bit too unknown. Eagles seem like a sure bet someday. Has John Mellencamp done it yet? He woulda been perfect for this year in Indianapolis and all.

You may agree with what he's focusing on. In some ways he's anti-crony capitalism. The problem is, he'd try to do away with so many gov't agencies and regulations, cronyism will cease to matter. Keep in mind, this is coming for one of the more conservative people around here. He's very eloquent and appealing in describing the libertarian philosophy, but I honestly don't think you've thought through the complete ramifications his policies would bring.

Not to turn this thread into an NCLB rant, but another problem is that every year, you're measuring a new group of kids. If this year's 8th graders did better than last year's, your school did well. The really important question (by measures starting with, but not limited to standardized tests), is how much the 8th graders you tested last year grew into 9th grade.
