  1. Like this, I think: D D6 I been young, I been old D D6 I been hurt and consoled Em C Heart of cold, heart of gold - so I'm told D D6 I been lost, I been found D D6 I been taken by the sound of Em G C my own voice Voices in my head D A Em G I can't help it if I fall in D A Em G love with you again I'm calling D A Em G just to let you know it dawned on me Damn thinks don't line up well, but I think there is a G (020030) at "my own voice Voices in my head" between the Em and C. This occurs only in the second half of the verse.
  2. I think there is one chord after the Em in the verses before it starts over. Second time only?
  3. A.M. is not bad at all. In fact, they all are pretty good except the Camel (terrible idea).
  4. When it kicks in towards the middle, it is definitely Abbey Road -ish. Somone is channeling George with some of those guitar lines (again; remember "You Never Know"?). BTW, my least favorite song on TWL
  5. Good for you. I have rescued several animals and it is a worthy and admirable endeavor. Plus, they are damn cute.
  6. Childlike and Evergreen - such a sweet and organic sounding folk song. Underrated. Wow, YHF-AGiB is very tough to choose. I went with Bob Dylan's Beard but could have easily chose at least three others (especially CCE - the holy grail of Wilco B-sides). I like Bob's Beard for the same reason I liked CL&EG: I love when JT strips down to folk song mode. Add some heartfelt lyrics and some fancy picking and you got a great song. Unlikely Japan - a hypnotizing song with droning acoustics and Cylon overdubs. Perfect!
  7. I lot of new songs in that setlist. Hopefully, that means a new record soon (it has been too long). I saw them a few months back and they played 'Carpenter', as well. A great song that bodes well for the new stuff.
  8. I streamed thee new record off NPR yesterday and I have say it might be my favorite since ... Easy Tiger? Cold Roses, even? ...
  9. I caught the Colbert show. I am by no means a Radiohead fanboy, but I am always impressed with what they can do live. Really amazing they can get those sounds out in a live venue with (mostly) traditional guitar-bass-drum setup.
  10. PF gave AGiB a fucking 6.6; so they lose credibility, no?
  11. I will always have a soft spot for Automatic and Monster. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWkMhCLkVOg&ob=av3n
  12. I wish they had done it more like JT's actural SG: black pickguard, pelham blue, etc.
  13. I am going to suggest that nobody 'hates' SBS. Like WTA and AM (and TWL?), SBS has to be judged against BT-ST-YHF-AGiB. That is a remarkable run of records and any followup is going to suffer due in comparison.
  14. This gives me hope! This makes me worry...
  15. I am about ready to declare that Strange Mercy is the best record of the year (sorry Wilco ).
  16. Thanks to a fellow VC'r, I put together my first attempt at tabbing out the best song on TWL. I obviously did not put in all the little picking around the chord shapes, but you get the idea with respect to the progression and the runs. Feedback welcome (as always). One Sunday Morning - Wilco Tune Down One Whole Step (shapes relative to nut; sounding step lower) Intro: C G F D|---0----0----3--------------------1---1---1---------------------| A|---1----1----0-------0-1-0--------1---1---1--------0-1-0--------| F|---0----0----0---0-2----
  17. Do you have a tab that you could share?
  18. I think a more interesting box set would include B-sides, demos, rarities, unreleased tracks, etc.
  19. Animals is the only PF record I still regularly listen too. "Dogs" is just so damn good.
  20. Very promising after first listen. But I will hold judgement until a few spins. Really liked AoA , Black Moon & One Sunday Morning
