  1. Tonight's the Night Blood on the Tracks BT Boys and Girls in America Wrecking Ball
  2. Just go to the show and scream out song titles while the band is between songs. That always works.
  3. Speaking of old Tupelo songs, I'd love to see "If That's Alright" come back, too. I think the current lineup could really nail it.
  4. Not enough. (This message has been brought to you on behalf of the nice folks at MusicToday)

I saw them once back in the day. I recall that they were trying really hard not to appear to be part of the early-90s grunge/angst scene, with mixed success (see John's continued wearing of flannel). They also had a Bob/Jerry my song/your song thing going on--it was obvious, even though I didn't know much about the band back then.
  6. Good luck waiting for Hotel Arizona to resurface. I think Jay Bennett got that song in the divorce...
  7. The last two seconds of "Ashes of American Flags" into the first two seconds of "Heavy Metal Drummer." Brilliantly produced.
  8. 4:03-4-13 of At Least That's What You Said. Perhaps the greatest mid-guitar-solo drum fill in the history of rock and roll. Longer than four seconds, but still brilliant.
  9. So I was just walking through Georgetown here in lovely Washington DC (our nation's capital!) and I was passing by a street musician. You know the type--Stratocaster, mini amp with too much reverb at his feet, etc. I normally don't pay much attention to these buskers, but as I passed by him, I thought, "that song sounds familiar." It was Summerteeth! I couldn't believe it--he was a scrawny older man in a black suit and black fedora. I gave him $5. Best money I have spent in a long time.
  10. I am such an idiot. Eight years of staring at that cover, and I never noticed it was gum...
  11. I'm still holding out for the return of Hotel Arizona. I just listened to the version of HA from the 5/23/97 show. Damn I love that song. Alas.
  12. http://www.readthehook.com/blog/index.php/...ion-in-october/ Tickets will go on sale on Friday, September 7 at 10am. They will be available to order at Plan 9 Records locations, by calling 1-877-CPAV-TIX, or through the Pavilion
  13. Isn't this how a fan wound up on stage, getting manhandled by Jeff?
  14. I think I will try to avoid the beltway as much as possible. I'll prolly take New Hampshire Ave or 295 (which can be another whole clusterfuck). Wish me luck.
  15. Are you sure? I would think that it would take at least an hour without rush hour traffic...
  16. For all you who brave the MD suburban commute: how long do you think it will take me to drive from Foggy Bottom to Merriweather? I don't want to be late because I sat on the beltway for a lifetime! Thanks.
  17. Any early REO Speedwagon. The later stuff is pure crap.
  18. I've always wanted to get "Our love is all of god's money" tattooed encircling my ankle. Not sure if mom would approve, though.
  19. I love this caveat from the ebay listing: "New York residents: New York state law limits the resale ticket price for this event location, so your maximum bid cannot exceed $1740.00." Damn. I wouldn't pay less than $1750!
