  1. I heard this at Steak and Shake last night on their canned music (Muzak??). LouieB
  2. War on War slightly edges out Kamera to me.... LouieB
  3. How about the songs I really like on ONE LP.... for $10. Actually it is pretty cool, but after having listened to it for years (and years ago) not sure I need it, but hey..you never know. LouieB
  4. Wow, cool....a reissued album on vinyl at a price that makes sense. Not sure I am really that interested in this LP, but at least it is priced to sell. LouieB
  5. Next stop....Broadway.... LouieB
  6. As one of the few VCers to actually turn the big 60 this week, turning 40 seems like a very long time ago in some respects. Don't get too stressed about your age; you really can't do anything about it. (Actually 50 is a pretty big landmark.) LouieB
  7. Just a Kid was from the show I was at. Glad that was included; despite actually having a working turntable, I have not yet put this set on yet. LouieB
  8. Sadly this flood has been overshadowed by the Times Square (non) bombing and the oil spill in the Gulf. Hang in there. LouieB
  9. Greg Kot reviewed these in the Trib today. Liked the NP album but not the HS. LouieB
  10. Yea, we occasionally talk about ECM in the jazz thread. I think there is some very cool stuff on ECM from the 70s and 80s. LouieB
  11. Thanks again to everyone. I will try not to have another birthday for a year. LouieB
  12. A Daniel Lanois produced record by Neil could be pretty cool, as long as ol' Neil spends a bit of time actually writing some decent songs. Even if not, it will sound great. LouieB
  13. I watch plenty of TV, but don't have cable, so don't get any of the good stuff. LouieB
  14. Thanks everyone. Not doing much special. Really trying to ignore this one. Hitting the big 60 is pretty awesome and not quite the celebration 50 was. Seems like just yesterday I dropped onto VC a mere 50 something. These things come up pretty quickly anymore. And yea, I am semi working on Mass but nothing confirmed yet. If I come it will be with Rosie in tow. LouieB
  15. I was going to say something about this. I am not a big "fan" of any of these groups (need to break out the RHP LP I bought a dogs age ago), but I really like Tiny Cities. LouieB
  16. Time for another Bobfest.....somehow 30 years in the music biz isn't really all that long. LouieB
  17. What the market will bear............ LouieB
  18. I saw Pat when he was a young pup with the Gary Burton group. LouieB
  19. I am really enjoying the hit single....on the radio... LouieB
  20. Pat Metheny? I buy CDs and LPs only. Never download. Record day has been great. As the convo usually goes, this is a good time and probably a unique time for LP sales, since those who collected LPs back when they were the major format are now dying and so there is alot on the market for collectors. Meanwhile I don't think this temporary resurgance should be any indication that LPs are here to stay. Having said that I still buy alot of em, both used and sometimes new. LouieB
  21. Nice article about these guys in the NY Times magazine this weekend. LouieB
  22. How come he isn't playing Chicago? I volunteer my living room....fuck it. LouieB
