You forgot to mention the bickering about the bickering. It's all good, really. Kinda like garage sales. Sometimes you have to sort through a lot of junk to find some interesting stuff. I still find that Wilco fans generally have sane, honest, interesting things to say about the music. Most of the threads / posts around here are worth reading, imo. Patiently waiting on the leak or the stream or the whatever....

I was really hoping that those koozies were made by a bunch of Wilco gramma's in the Kay-Settes Knitting Club from Boise or something like that. Alas, according to the website it's a group of hipsters in NC. Or they're all made in China and the whole thing is a marketing ploy. Really, you never know.

If I'm by myself, almost always. If there's someone else at home or in the car when it's playing, I'll skip over it after a minute or so. I get a little tired of the kids going "Dad, what's wrong with your stereo? Oh, that's your Wilco stuff. Never mind." I've tried to explain it, but I think it's lost on them. The live version from the residency is my favorite, btw.

I was just thinking that same thing this week. We're going to the Nashville shows and I think that's the perfect venue for the suits.

Cool beans. For Sunday I got sec MF-3 row V, seats 12-13, so we'll be within hollering distance. I vote we band together against any sitters! Didn't say anything about obstructed view, so hopefully no columns. I need to find some for Saturday so we can make a weekend of it. I haven't done a two-nigher with Wilco so I really wanted to do that this time. Kinda thought about Indy but it's a bit far for the middle of the week, so Nashville on the weekend is the plan. Assuming we can find the Sat tickets. I've never had this much trouble getting Wilco tickets. See ya,

I'm still kinda surprised that there is one lone Asia date and nothing else. Seems odd to trek over to japan for one festival date. Unlikely, even.

I've really tried to get into these guys, but it's just not there. I tried Z, Okonokos, and Evil Urges, and MOF. I saw them open for Wilco in 2005. I DVR'ed the storytellers and tried to watch it over the weekend. Nothing. The storytellers was actually a bit painful to watch.

A couple that stand out for me (things that don't blend into the background) Joe Jackson's "Body and Soul" has some good jazzy/big band kinds of horns in it. Radiohead's "The National Anthem" has some rather non-traditional stuff.

So today on the front page of the Best Buy ad is a big headline that says : IT'S ABOUT GOING GAGA OVER FREE PHONES With the new Lady Gaga album on the front, along with some cell phone ads. Get it? Sure you do. So how can the Wilcos cash in on this? Do we have a snazzy tagline that can get the boys some serious branding? It works for movies. It worked for beer and sandwich shops. And it's better than the same old boring routine of touring and the one-song-at-the-end late night TV spots. I will leave it up to you creative types out there. Carry on.

South Korea is OK, not all that different or unique from other Asian countries. Food's pretty good, esp the bbq. China is pretty fascinating. All of it. Highly recommended. Best to know someone to take you around, though.

yeah, I watched it too. He looked pretty calm, cool, & collected though. It's gotta be tough to come up with something creative and fabulous 5 times with the same thing. Personally, I think it was the grits that got him in the end...
