  1. I liked Shake the Sheets more, Annunciation Day was a bit too much for me. I'm all for free speech, but calling the Virgin Mother Mary a cheatin' whore...c'mon, even if you're not Chrisitan, have respect for other people's religions. Seriously. Other than that, and the horrible vocal mix of Bomb.Repeat.Bomb, the new album's really good. Although, I have to agree about the cover art...
  2. sure this isn't the material released in The Wilco Book?
  3. I like the way you think, sir.
  4. Leonard Cohen- Democracy "it's comin from the silence on the dock of the bay, from the brave, the bold, the tattered heart of Cheverolet"
  5. listen to the lyrics to Halfway to a Threeway, disturbing but slightly humorous. I dunno, it just popped in my head today. They both intrigue me.
  6. Wilco-Yankee Hotel Foxtrot Wilco- A Ghost is Born Elvis Costello- King of America Neil Young- Tonight's The Night Bruce Springsteen- Born to Run
  7. I think they both have jazzmasters.
  8. totally agree, when I listen to all of O'Rourkes stuff, Halfway to a Threeway comes to a peaceful end, and All Downhill from Here BLASTS into my headphones... I've also decided that O'Rourke is music's Quentin Tarintino.
  9. Robert Sean Leonard's version of the song is also irritating, what with the out of tune viola in it.
  10. 9/10. Missed the one about him supporting Reagan..
  11. For a while there it was Halfway to a threeway, which is still an amazing album, but I'm really into Bad timing right now. Insignificance is really cool, but I have a tough time listening to Eureka all the way through.
  12. He does seem extremely nice in that interview. I'm a tad bit skeptical of the amount he played on YHF, or at the very least, if those writing credits are as cut and dry as he says. But other than that, great interview, thanks for feeding my insomnia.
  13. let me just say that Jim O'Rourke is a genius behind the board, and I can only wonder what would have been the result if he had mixed Sky Blue Sky...
  14. Tonight's The Night is by far my favorite Neil Young album. Zuma is a close second.
  15. Yeah I was there! I talked to John and Pat before soundcheck. I hung around for most of the day. Really great show!
  16. After reading this interview, I want two things: 1) to hear that Dylan story and 2) to be Jeff Tweedy's friend...
  17. Top 5 at the moment: 1) The High Heat 2) Muzzle of Bees 3) Hesitating Beauty 4) Panthers 5) Hate it Here
  18. I noticed Wilco got some comparisons to the Dan on the latest album, any body else Steely Dan fanatics?

    wow

I love how during the buildup, you can hear Jeff say "one more" right after the triplet drum fill! So effing good.
  20. I can honestly say I'd kill a man to go to a living room show.
