  1. Thanks Kev... we can't forget that day, despite all that this administration has done to distort what it means. 9/11/01 is a massive collage of personal tragedies. My family misses my stepbrother Troy immensely, just as thousands of families miss a loved one. Now as much as then, I wish he stuck around to take his son to school instead of going to work early, but it's a bit foolish to dwell on what-ifs. MSNBC has done something interesting on the past couple of anniversaries... they've re-broadcast the Today Show from 9/11/01, matching up the time, so that 9am on 9/11/01 was shown at 9am on
  2. Definitely enjoying this disc... I'm such a sucka for BSS.
  3. I've already spent my Apple quota this year... anything new for me is either coming in '08 or from Santa Claus.
  4. Word, word, word!!! There are some tracks on Original Musiquarium that are monsters as well: "Do I Do" and "That Girl" immediately come to mind... As far as his early singles, "Uptight (Everything Is Alright)", "Nothing's Too Good For My Baby", "I'm Wondering", and his version of "We Can Work It Out" all kick. Of his later numbers, "All I Do Is Think About You", a remake of an old Tammi Terrell single, is wonderful. It's amazing how Stevie's been recording since he was 12, and you really can't do too poorly picking songs from any portion of his career. What a catalog.
  5. More than bit late, sounds like it was great! Happy Belated

  8. Loved A Pagan Place and This Is The Sea when I bought them after seeing the Waterboys open for U2 at Radio City Music Hall (1984? 85?), and when Fisherman's Blues came out, it seemed such a departure from the previous albums... so folky! it grew on me fast, and it's now the definitive Waterboys' album for me, but A Pagan Place and This Is the Sea will always hold a special place... more of a U2-ish sound as mentioned, but hinting at what was to come. "The Whole of the Moon" (on This Is the Sea) is exquisite.

  11. Heading to Cooperstown, NY, this weekend for the Baseball Hall of Fame Induction. Been going every year since 1989. 40-50 of us camp at the family farmhouse an hour away for the weekend. Campfire, bbq & guitars every night, wiffle ball & softball & frisbee with the kids all day. Can't beat it.
  12. Thank you for reading my mind and putting it so perfectly. Hang/drown/have your body repeatedly slammed to the ground/electrocute in hell, Vick.
  13. I'd have to say that yours is spot-on as well, Kate... especially the fiery red hair and the power fist t-shirt!
  14. Now we need a Simpson-ized Sebastian Bach to chase after you, Jen.
  15. Did play a 000 and loved it, but the price kept me away, as I was looking for a workhorse that I could drag to 5/6 gigs per week without losing my lunch if it got a scratch on it. I settled for their $1000 ac25, which played wonderfully. I especially love it for fingerpicking, just so present...
  16. ...helped my wife and I get through the fallout of 9/11, thanks to Wilco generously streaming the album at their website not long after.
