Perhaps something has come to pass since 2 years ago when Jeff told The Australian newspaper in an interview that Billy Bragg was "full of shit." ??? This is just a snippet of the whole interview, read the whole thing if you want the full perspective. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/arts/wilco-a-sharing-kind-of-band/story-e6frg8qf-1111115761751

JOKE TITLE: Ryan Is Dead: Ryan Adams does Grateful Dead
Wendy replied to cgoodwin22's topic in Someone Else's Song
Sorry, but I had to add the "JOKE TITLE" because, like everyone above me has said, it's sorta bad timing to make a joke/play on words about Ryan Adams dying. Too soon. That's all. -
I listened to it on the way to Chicago last weekend, loved it, started listening to it a second time but decided against it because I was in really bad traffic and it didn't deserve that! I definitely want to catch a show still, undecided where.

such sad, sad news. Deserved its own thread, IMO ... but if anybody wants to read the last thread, it can be found here ... http://forums.viachicago.org/topic/41430-big-star/

This one got me through the late-night drive home Saturday night from chicago.

These home show tours are completely cool. David Bazan, (fka Pedro the Lion) was recently here in Fort Wayne and did several house shows - and they were awesome, very intimate. One was in the office of One Lucky Guitar ad agency (below) ... who did posters and everything. I highly recommend anyone attend this kind of performance if they can. photo by Joel Faurote poster by Nate Utesch / One Lucky Guitar

Ryan, this is enough. The onus is upon YOU to find him a ticket. The question is how much are YOU willing to pay to find a ticket to TRADE with him. Plus, and most importantly, this is no longer "face + fees" talk if you're asking how much he'll pay, and that's against the policy of this board. So don't ruin it for others. Take this convo off board. Thanks.

Question for Susan: I have a $150 ticket. It says "Main." Is there a section roped off for $150 ticket holders behind the $250 gold section? Or am I in the same pool of peeps with the $100 and $50 tickets who will need to queue up early and grab whatever seat I can find behind the $250 ticket holders? Thanks for clarifying this for us. Several folks have asked me about this $150 section, so I'm not the only one confused. When tickets went on sale, this is what the Ticketmaster page said:

He is too cute!!!

Yes. If you walk around downtown Chicago, and the "el" train goes overhead, you'll totally get it.

Wow, so sad to lose such a great talent. I was unaware of his history. Prayers for his family and friends for the sorrow they must endure. from Rolling Stone: http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2010/03/06/sparklehorses-mark-linkous-takes-own-life/

oh yes ... in fact there's a thread started already here on this page about the new album. Lots of National fans at VC. I'm sure a search would show lots more threads about them from over the years past.

Thanks ditty! Here's what prices ended up being (in Indianapolis anyway - I saw other cities had 125 as the highest price regular seats, but Indy was 131. Probably built in hidden fees). PAVILION - $71.00 - $131.00 GA LAWN - $41.00 Also a VIP PKG - $300 - but lots of merch & 5 albums download, VIP parking etc, exclusive stuff. Too rich for my blood though.

Anyone have any idea on the prices for this tour? I'm rounding up the girlfriends and of course they can't believe I'm asking NOW about a show in July (they don't get it). And they want to know how much. I told them to plan on anywhere between $60-100 per seat. ??? I have no idea. It was probably $40+ when I saw them 2 tours ago in Indy (luckily skipped the stormy one), but this is a Live Nation show so who knows.

Oh, it's a sweet sweet summer in the midwest with TP & DBT!!! Indy looks like the best venue/date, and I'll be planning my summer vacation around traveling for this show, so ticket procurement anxiety is setting in!

Frequently asked question. He describes it here. http://glennkotche.com/press/md_0705.php

Yes, this is a more accurate statement. Thanks. I need an editor.

No, sorry Lou. You've just been caught between 2 angry girls who got shut out for 1 ticket for Durham. We're responding to rwilson who apparently doesn't have any problems getting tickets and are just generally pissed off that that's not our reality.

You must not have been trying to get tix for shows on the upcoming east coast tour, or your identity would be hurting right about now. Selling out so fast, like nothing I've seen in my experience with Wilco. And craploads of tickets at the resellers and scalpers, hundreds of dollars per ticket in many instances. Do you think it's only because they called it "An evening with Wilco" ??? I couldn't get even one single ticket to come into my queue on this onsale day - not even a nosebleed seat! http://www.dpacnc.com/default.asp?dpac=51&objId=69 Getting tickets for this tour is

yes, there are some folks doing this ... head on over to this thread for more discussion on taping the webcast, taping the show in person etc. http://forums.viachicago.org/topic/43003-madison-webcast/

What Wilco song would you like to have seen the Beatles cover?

Do they sell audience recordings at your local independent music store?

I don't believe this is sold out. You can buy the $150 and $250 seats (closest to stage) right now here: http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0400444975D2262B?majorcatid=10001&artistid=806156&minorcatid=1 The $100 seats are not on sale yet. So keep an eye out on this thread for news about the $100 tickets. http://forums.viachicago.org/topic/42922-jeff-tweedy-solo-shows/

New Clem Snide streaming in entirety at NPR. Happy Monday thanks to NPR! If this leaked, I never noticed. Release is set for Feb 23. Loved it. Can't wait to listen again. Very uncluttered and simple. I hope they bring the cello along on tour when they visit us at the Tiger Room May 12! "I need ya, Anita" http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=123569297
